PSA

The best way to go down stairs is on your feet, not your back and rear end.

Because if you do go down on your back and rear end, you will sit on the bottom stair and wonder why nothing hurts terribly bad and then you will go along about your day and then half an hour later, you will move and you will feel this awful pain from your neck all the way down your spine and into your rear end and you will remember that you wondered why nothing hurt terribly bad and you will know it was just a delayed reaction.

And then you will wonder how long it will take to stop hurting again.

Just sayin’.

PSA

If you weigh less than 150 pounds, and your sinuses are hurting, don't take the single dose (2 pills) of Nyquil Sinus at midnight if you want to function at all before 3:00pm the next day.

You may experience severe drowsiness during normal operational hours, much like (what I would imagine it would feel like) being drugged. Your arms and legs, and even your chest, may feel like there are weights attached.

Take my word for it. Just. Don't. Do it.

As an aside, it is also an extremely bad idea to try to play the Wii in this drugged state, and an even WORSE idea to try to lower your Wii Fit Age. Actually, it will add about 40 years to your current (way too old) Wii Age. Yeah. I'm not telling you what how old it says I am, but let's put it this way...I'm pretty near death.

Incidently, thanks to Nyquil Sinus, my sinuses are no longer hurting, but I felt like I was as old as the Wii said I was for most of the day today...until the effects finally wore off.

My advice...take half a dose and take it EARLY.

A Bit of Useless Information

It's been a busy couple of days trying to get back in the swing of real life in addition to being swamped at work, so I haven't really felt like posting, however, while laying on a really hard x-ray table at the doctor's office today, one of those "moments" just hit me.

I busted out laughing and then thought....oh.. I have to blog that. LOL.

What "moment," you're thinking?

Oh the moment when the x-ray tech chuckled and said, "You have glitter on your legs."

I was like, I have, huh? What? Okay....I do not put "glitter" on my legs. I put regular ol' Aveeno radiant skin lotion on my legs after shaving this morning but I saw no such glitter.

Well, a bit later when she made me roll over, I caught a glimpse of my knee under the x-ray lamp and my word if that x-ray lamp didn't make it sparkle to high heaven.

After she went out to take the x-ray, I was laying there looking up at the ceiling and I just couldn't help myself. I started snickering. (Then I made myself stop cuz I didn't want her to think I was crazy. Like crazier than putting glitter on my legs. HAHA.)

While it could be worse....like this post I read awhile back that for some reason pops into my memory..........I would still like to just inform you all that if you are ever going to get an x-ray and you don't want to be glittered up under the light....keep the Aveeno Radiant Skin Lotion in the bottle that day. Cuz while it doesn't look glittery under normal lighting, under rare circumstances, you will shine like the stars, baby!

Oh and the thought that went through my head that made me snicker??? I'm glad she's not a guy. How embarrassing. Oh well. But it could always be worse. HAHA.

By the way, I haven't done anything to my knee, but it started snapping at me every time I try to straighten it and has been causing a great deal of aggravation and pain for about a week now. Not sure what is going on...hence the doctor visit and x-ray.

Monday - Fund Drive Day 2

OH, I AM SO DEAD TIRED. Must be Monday. LOL.

So on to Monday Messages (The Fund Drive Edition)

Dear Wacky Phone Volunteer,
Yes...I am avoiding you. Don't call me. I might call you. I just haven't decided yet.
(sorry...nothin personal) LOL
Thanks, (but no thanks),
Phone Volunteer Coordinator

Dear Work,
Can I go home yet?
Sincerely,
Exhausted Employee

Dear friends who comment on my blog,
This is a PSA to say, please go to your blogger profile and in the second section (Identity), please put an email where you can be reached in question #2. If you don't want anyone to see your email address, go up to the first part (Privacy) and make sure that box #3 is unchecked. Entering an email address enables me to hit reply whenever I get an email showing your comments. If you do not have an email listed, it gives this no-reply @ blogger.com option which....obviously will not make it to you. This makes it really hard if I want to reply directly to your comment. So help me out a little, will ya?
THANKS ever so much!
Trying To Respond

Dear Kids,
Sheesh. How do you KNOW when I'm plumb exhausted and ready for you to NOT get on my last nerve??? I do my best not to let you know that, but you always seem to read my mind and just jump all up and down on....you know....my very last (and very frayed) nerve. STOP already.
Still love you,
Mom
PS I have one more question: How comes you could care less when mommy comes through the door when it's the most exciting thing in the WORLD for daddy to come through the door. My word, you even scream and get excited when he walks out to the garage to take out the trash and comes right back in again...can't you get a LITTLE excited to see me when I've been gone all day? Goodness! Make ME feel real good, why don't ya!?!

Dear 9:00,
I fear I will not spend much quality time with you tonight. I plan to not even SEE you, since my eyes are already drifting shut and it's only 8:28.
Maybe we'll hang out tomorrow. Doubtful, but one could always dream! Wait....that's exactly what I plan to do.....LOL
Miss you,
Sleepy Eyes

Dear Casey V,
I'll tell KC that if he can't handle things, to get with you and let you take the kids for a night. LOL. He'll probably be okay....*grin* Who am I to argue with him, right? HAHA. By the way, how was youth camp? Oh, and wanna volunteer for the fund drive? How does 7am hit ya? ROFL!!!! PS Make sure you read my little PSA above....since you were the most recent person I tried to reply to.....HEHEHE.
Love ya,
Faith

Dear Monday,
Good bye.

Have I EVER mentioned....

.......that I have a horrid dislike of Mondays. Actually, it's not so much the day as it is the things that always seem to happen on these days that just gets me.

Today? I took the day off work. K-man had a followup with the allergist, and then after I got him back to school, I had a dentist appointment in the little town about half an hour from where I live.

Now, I KNOW what you're thinking right now. So I'm just gonna go ahead and tell ya. I ain't no dummy. It's Monday. Do you REALLY think I was going to speed? HA. NO. I left 10 minutes ahead of schedule EXACTLY so I would not be in any hurry. I also kept the speedometer well below my usual 7-9mph over the limit. It's Monday, people. I've learned my lesson. No Speedy Gonzales biz-ness on Mondays.

Remind me, when I finish this story, to come back to the whole "unfairness of life" and "speeding" topics....

Okay...so of course, there was road construction, and I had to wait a coon's age to get through to the dentists office. I expected that. It is Monday, after all. But I had 10 minutes extra and I was in no hurry. So I get to the dentist's office and go in....and they don't even call me back for about 20 minutes, so even if I HAD been late, it would have been no big deal....and you know, I was EVEN prepared for that and took my big fat 490 page book (of which I'm on page 185) and I was perfectly unruffled through the entire wait.

HOWEVER. I completely did NOT even put it together that perhaps a dental cleaning and x-rays should have been scheduled on a day OTHER than Monday until it got down the the last part of the cleaning and the dentist dude is looking at my x-rays and saying..."teeth look good,....but there's two little spots over here we're gonna have to fix." And then it hit me. You big dummy. Today's Monday. Of COURSE they'll find a cavity or two. (In my case....it was the latter)

My next cleaning? Is scheduled for a Tuesday. Thank you very much. (So are the fillings, not that it will matter much.....of course, it might matter...if I did it on Monday, they would probably start drilling and realize they were going to have to do a root canal or something instead....or they would somehow glue my tongue to my teeth....which actually doesn't sound like that bad of an idea! HA! Hush your mouth, KC....LOL.)

Needless to say, Monday's are dreadfully expensive days for me. *sigh*

Okay......oh, what's that you say? Oh yeah, of course, I didn't forget. Back to "speediness" and "the unfairness of life"....

Let's just talk some more about my most recent driving "indiscretions."

I have to say it. It is NOT MY DRIVING. It is NOT MY CAR. It's just that life is TOTALLY NOT FAIR. Okay. I TOTALLY sounded like Munchkin there. Sorry. I'm going to interrupt myself again and insert this thought before I forget it....should we just abandon all efforts to treat our kids fairly b/c hello, then they'll grow up and realize that they were LIVING IN A DREAM WORLD when real life SMACKS them in the face!!!!!! Sorry again.

Back to my original topic. So a couple of days after my most recent ticket, we are all in the car, driving to church, running a wee bit late, KC's driving, we're in the SAME vehicle that I was driving at the time of my ticket, and we're on interstate. Speed limit on interstate is 70. We're in the fast lane, couple cars in front of us doing the speed limit, right lane is empty for several car lengths ahead. KC gets impatient and gets in the right lane and proceeds to go around (he says he was doing 90....HE SAID IT....NOT ME!).

Okay, are you with me? He's zipping around and PASSING ON THE RIGHT.....doing 90 in a 70. Okay. Now, he suddenly looks in his rear view mirror and I feel the car immediately slow and he's going "oh no, I'm so dead....he's got me, I'm so dead." I didn't even have to look. I was inwardly doing the victory dance cuz it's not that I want him to get a ticket, but he shouldn't get mad at my driving when he's doing the same thing, right?

Now I'm sure ya'll probably know where I'm going with this, since I started it out with "life's not fair" but I'll just tell ya anyways. Mr. State Trooper dude who was right behind him and saw the whole thing????????????????? (and may I also note that it was a State Trooper who wrote MY ticket....although not the same one....this one was MUCH lighter skinned) DROVE RIGHT ON BY WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A "BY YOUR LEAVE."

DUM DA DA DUMMMMMMMMM!

And. I took the class 2 years and 2 months ago. You can only take the class once every three years. THAT stinks. I should have told the officer that I would happily take the ticket, but could he please just wait 10 more months and THEN pull me and give it to me????

Oh well. I did think it was RATHER humorous that the same day I called to find out when I last took that class....I got home and found, in that day's mail, not one, but FOUR different advertisements from local lawyers who wanted to represent me in court. One of them even included a copy of my ticket. Like I wouldn't remember getting it or something. LOL. Least I can laugh about it all. Haha.

In other news. Remember how I was talking about this a couple of posts back? Well, today was a great start on it. I mean, for being a Monday an all. I was very patient today. So much so that a couple of times after I walked away from the situation, I marveled at myself. LOL. Well, you know, God helped me....so I guess it would be more appropriate to say that I marveled at God. *GRIN* Or that I marveled at the fact that God could even do anything with me at all. ROFL. Or that I just like using the word "marvel." BWAHAHAHA.

Unfortunately, I think just by writing the above paragraph, I might be failing in the "______ does not boast, _____ is not proud." categories. But I did better in the "______ is not easily angered" one. And then by posting about KC's little speeding and not getting a ticket for it, I would have to say I probably failed the very next one, which is "______ keeps no record of wrongs." HAHAHA.

Well, guess I can't expect to win them all in one day. Especially if that one day is a Monday. LOL. We'll just try again tomorrow. *Grin*

And now, I'll just leave you with this JEWEL of a website that was forwarded to me....*HUGE MISCHIEVOUS GRIN HERE*

The Speed Trap Exchange - Sharing the favorite hiding spots of your friendly neighborhood blue lights with all overweight-feet people across the country.

ENJOY.

Later! =)

PS Amy....how did you do on the love chapter today? Better than me, I hope! *grin* And I'd LOVE to do a header for ya...you'll just have to know that you're the reason behind another day of my procrastination....LOL. So just tell me three things: Do you want anything written besides the title and if so, what? Give me a couple or three of your favorite colors. And three, what's your style? (like: girly, techy, straight lines, frou frou, or what?) Oh wait, let's make that four...you prefer like a landscape photography header or the scrappy headers? And I can't charge for headers....if I did that, I'd have to buy commercial use rights for the stuff I use.....LOL. I prefer to just do it for my friends anyways. =)

PSA (Public Service Announcement) #1

Attempting to save time on a hurried Sunday morning by using your curling iron/hairdryer in the car on the way to church and plugging it in to the ac/dc converter that is used for laptops and portable dvd players will not, in fact, save either time OR money.

Believe me. I know. And I know I don't have to tell you how I know.

However, I will tell you what I've learned from this experience.....

- Hairdryer/curling iron thing-a-majiggys take more power than a laptop. Who'da thunk it?

- The sound of dead silence approximately one second after turning the aforementioned appliance on ....was.....uh..... incredible. Even the kidlets were silent. For all of two seconds. And people. That three seconds of silence was not worth the experience. Let me tell ya. Part of that dead silence was from the entire center console going out. Including the radio of kids songs that was keeping the kids from arguing for the ride to church. And the radio has been silent for the last 3 days.....not even a clock. Or a cigarette lighter to plug in my phone charger.

- Do you know how often you look at the clock on the dash when you're constantly trying not to be late?

- Replacing blown fuses can get expensive. Particularly if you buy the wrong size the first time.

- Or if you didn't happen to check to see which number you blew 5, 10, 15, or 20 and the store is out of one or two of the numbers so you buy the entire multi pack to make sure you don't have to make a third trip.

- So now you have a pack of fuses that you are unable to use b/c they wouldn't even come close to fitting, but you were dumb enough to open them before you actually looked at the fuses that were in there.

- Not only that, but you have enough fuses now to replace any blown fuses in all of your cars (and possibly even a few friends and neighbor's cars) until doomsday....(providing they are the right size, but then again, you also have other sizes, too....so I'm sure one of them would fit).

- Then you look at your history of dumb moves and realize that the likelihood of you needing those fuses on hand for your own car is probably going to come in handy.

- But with my luck, I'll be out of town next time and need a radio or cigarette lighter for the personal dvd player LONG before I could lay my hands on them and end up just buying more.

- HOWEVER. Patting myself on the back here. I did it all myself. I did not depend on my strong manly dependable hubby to fix my dumb move. I bought the fuses (granted, it took me a few tries, but I eventually got there), found the fuse box, removed the fuses, and put in new ones. And like, didn't kill the power windows, or something equally disturbing, in the process. Aren't you proud of me?

ROFL. I would say that I was proud of me, but after the dumb move that started it all, I'd have to say it wasn't really that impressive and it's a good thing I found a way to (even slightly) redeem myself a little. Haha.

SO there you have it. The whole sordid tale. Don't blowdry/curl and ride......trust me....your fuses will thank you.
