Cranky Pants

Blast it. I am in a fine, feathered mood. Clearly, it's not been a mood for blogging...as I have been absent for what feels like decades.

2020 is getting on my last nerve. This year is so not my favorite. I was working on Christmas cards and I usually put a family update on the back for anyone who cares to know what we've been up to each year. This year I wrote about three sentences and then scratched off the idea of an update.

No one wants to be depressed like that. Our senior dogs got sick and crossed the rainbow bridge this year. I've cried for months. No way to put a positive spin on that. Stinkin' virus shut-downs and quarantines delivered way too much time stuck at home with the terrible teens. Nope, that doesn't sound very nice. I am now working several part time jobs just to get out of my house and away from previously mentioned beings. Yeah, that's bad...oops. I feel like one of the rare few that disagrees with the logic of mask mandates...for multiple reasons, and yet I'm outnumbered even in my own house....which makes me question my own sanity. Am I really the crazy one? Don't want to talk about that. Politics...well that's really gone bonkers this year. Definitely better leave THAT alone.

Sufferin' succotash.

Also...I jumped off the "quit drinking soda" wagon. Three years of separation between me and my beloved Dr. Pepper. No more of that mess...we best buddies again. I'm literally a pepperholic. Hi, my name is Faith...

Anyway, this year's Christmas update consists of our new address and best wishes for a huge improvement of events in 2021. Best I could do. I'm a glowing ray of sunshine these days...NOT. I probably shouldn't blog either, but since the blog has been virtually abandoned and no one will see it, it feels like a fairly safe place to vent a bit of my cranky pant frustration.

Lord help. I need it.

Like An Old Lady

I feel like I can relate a little better to crotchety old people right now. Everything hurts, I can't get enough rest so the bags under my eyes would exceed carry-on restrictions if I were to take them on a plane, and my brain is so tired I'm making weird comparisons. Also, I'm grouchy and impatient. Still.

On the bright side, we have a house now! We still can't move in yet, because we bought a fixer upper and it needs fixered up. Which is also the explanation for my complete exhaustion...I've been painting about 12 hours a day for the last 2 weeks. And THAT could potentially explain the brain. Maybe it's not exhaustion but too many paint fumes. LOL.

It's 8am, and the only reason I'm not already working is because I actually have a housecleaning job this morning that I have to go do before I can go over to the house. I am totally not making any sense but I had 5 minutes before I needed to leave, so I thought I'd pop in an blog since I've not had a chance to check it off on my bullet journal tracker since the last time I posted almost a month ago. (YIKES...I'm not doing very good with that. LOL)

So here...a post, rambling, run-on as it is, I'm still alive, but ready to die. Like an old lady.

Remembering Wally

I got really sad news this past week. One of my favorite co-worker/friends moved on from this world to the next. Time and distance somewhat hindered that friendship the last few years, but we stayed in occasional contact through Facebook. I tried to get with him in person last year when I was in town, but our schedules never worked out, and I was going to try again this summer when I came up. I had no idea his health had gotten so bad that I wouldn’t have another chance, and that breaks my heart, even though I know he’s much better off. Another mutual friend posted, “now he has all the answers.” I’m truly happy for Wally (his nickname on this blog), that he’s got the ultimate healing, but so sad that he’s not just a phone call away anymore.

So, since he was one of my biggest encouragers to start this blog (and to keep it going), I thought I would post one more in his memory.

I keep starting and deleting paragraphs. This is really hard. I’m not great with words, and I’m horrible with feelings. Everything I start to write, I hear Wally saying, stop that and just remember the laughter. And boy howdy, did we ever laugh. He made tough workdays bearable just by making me laugh. It wasn’t part of my original job to help him in Studio B, but when he lost one of his assistants to budget cuts, I gladly picked up the slack. Those ended up being some of my favorite memories of working with Wally. He would talk about what I said on my blog, we would chat about microphones (he had some cool ones!), he would tell me stories from his California days, he talked about his family and asked about mine, and just random conversations while we worked on getting the studio set up for his sessions. He showed me how to set up the microphones, where to put the wires…every setup was a little different, but he eventually got me trained…through a lot of laughter when I got it wrong. The gaffe tape especially…I would try to get the gaffe tape over the wires just right…he was very particular about that, but he NEVER got mad, just laughingly ragged me and made me redo it…again and again…lol…I was so happy when I finally learned the way he wanted it and would get it right on the first try.

He would tell you exactly how it was, and he pulled no punches, but when you were his friend, you knew he had your back. He loved God, he loved his family, and he loved his friends. It was my honor and utter privilege to have been one of the latter.

In conclusion, I’ve never been more grateful that he pushed me to keep blogging, because I was able today to go back through and pull out a few specific mentions of him that brought back memories I had forgotten. So I will close with these blog post bits.
Thats about all the interesting news I have for the day. I only got hit on by Wally today....and he only did that b/c he was making fun of me for that last blog entry....and b/c it bugs me. LOL....and he was actually literally punching me in the shoulder. Like I said, he was laughing at me and poking fun. Isn't that sweet? LOL...I guess I can take it from him....but he's only one of the select few allowed to poke fun. *grin* Shhhh...don't tell him. LOL. (August 16, 2006)
I had a duh moment today. (act surprised, will ya?) I got to work and Wally mentioned to me that the Flickr account that I've been using for my blog pics is linked to my main yahoo mail, not my blog yahoo mail....the main yahoo mail has my name on it. Ooops. I've created a flickr under my blog yahoo now, so all I have to do is go back and figure out which ones are where in my blog and re-upload them all under the new name. URGH. What a pain. I can't believe I missed that. (February 15, 2007)
…And Wally.....who asked if the foot in my mouth was the one with the ingrown toenail......
Pause for a moment while I laugh out loud......
Okay.....anyways, Wally.....I think I'll have to draw the line on answering that question. Ya know....I wouldn't want to give TOO much information out on here. ROFL!!! There are some things that should just remain a secret forever. Like whether or not I've got an ingrown toenail on the foot that was in my mouth. LOL.
(June 4, 2007)
What do you hope to achieve or accomplish with your blog? Have you been successful? If not, do you have a plan to achieve those goals?
Um, it started out as just a place to have an outlet for my thoughts and random details of my life, and it's still that, but now, one of my biggest kicks is making Wally laugh at whatever I'm blogging about at the time (hahah). And since both of those things seem to happen fairly often, then, yes, I guess that means I have been successful. =)
(June 11, 2007
…If it ain't one thing, it's half a zillion others. *sigh*
Wally asked me the other day if I had a "hot key" for that *sigh* thing. No, I sure don't, but I use it so often, it would save me at least 50 keystrokes per blog entry if I did. End of sentence. Press F7. Write another paragraph, insert F7.
(December 7, 2007)
After leaving the bluegrass music this evening, sitting in the car while Daddy's pumping gas:
(a little history is that "Uncle Wally," which is what munchkin calls a guy I used to work with that I was talking to at the festival, was kidding around with the munchkin after I told him we were heading off to take our hot and grumpy kids to the air conditioned grocery store to pick up some much needed groceries and tells her, "Okay, I need toilet paper and laundry powder.....oh and FROSTED Flakes, too. Did you get all that?" Of course, she giggled, so I thought she caught on to the fact that he was kidding.....LOL.....okay so back to the car scene:)
Munchkin: "Mom, don't forget, when we get to the store, Unca Waw-we needs to'wet paper and.....um....what else?"
Mommy: "Frosted Flakes."
Munchkin: "YEAH. Fwosted Fwakes and.....um....what else?"
Mommy (laughing): "Honey, Uncle Wally was just playing with you. He doesn't really want you to get all those things for him."
Munchkin: "Nuh UH, he needs to-wet paper!!"
Mommy: "I'm sure if he needs it, he'll get it the next time he goes to the grocery store."
Munchkin (insistently): "No, he needs it NOW!"

(July 3, 2008)
Randomosity….Or as my friend, Wally says: “because you just NEVER know!”  (LOL) (December 19, 2010)
In recent years, I haven’t blogged as much, hence the lack of recent mentions, but here’s his photo of us (altered his name to what he went by on my blog) and his last birthday wish to me on Facebook that I somehow missed last year =(, (although we’ve talked since then, I only just saw this when I went looking for this picture):
Faith.Wife.Mom.Photographer.Artist.House Painter.Dog Wrangler.Child of God.One Funny Lady.My buddy.Today is Mizz Faith's Birthday. She is sumpin' else. I bet she is at the beach with those two beast she calls dogs. God Bless you and all in your life.

Farewell, my friend, until we meet again.

Something Smells Fishy

Maybe it’s the lobster clip-art we had to try to recreate with illustrator in class tonight. =)

lobstertrace

That’s a lot of layers and shapes to redraw that booger…makes me TOTALLY appreciate artists a whole lot more! OMYWORD!

Or maybe that icky stink is when you find out that people you thought were your friends (or if not friends, at least not enemies) have suddenly ceased to exist to you on facebook. I mean, it’s one thing to just not be facebook friends…but it takes dislike to a whole new level when you actually go into your privacy settings and find the block list, and search a person’s name to add them to it. Like, you were uber-friendly to me in real life, I don’t understand why the facebook hate! Seriously?!

Something’s fishy.

Believe me, if I’ve put you on my block list (which is a VERY short list, by the way…I typically like pretty much everybody), then I’m probably going to be the very minimum of polite in real life…I definitely won’t be all uber-friendly.

My current block list (I know, I know….it’s killing you to not know, right?) consists of one person from college that absolutely drove me up the wall (and they probably know exactly who they are simply by my level of bare courtesy…hopefully they don’t read this blog), a couple of family members of someone who hated me enough to block me (because if you have those kinds of strong feelings against me, I would hate for you to “accidentally” see my stuff on your family member’s profile), and a couple of spam strangers. That’s it…because I generally get along okay with most people.

Or at least I thought I did. Maybe not.

Also did you know that if you block someone, not only can they never see your existence on facebook, but you can also never see THEIR existence on facebook. So for example, if you block a particular Jane Doe and then forget that you did it and want to go see what they’re up to, you can search them on facebook all day long and never find them unless you go unblock them in your privacy settings. Facebook wants to make sure you’re not secretly stalking people I guess. LOL. Or at least not on THAT profile. Also, if they’ve blocked you, you can’t block them back (because they no longer exist to you on facebook). So if there’s someone you can’t stand, hurry up and block them first (unless it’s me, in which case, you should tell me what I’ve done before you go to that extreme! LOL).

Hahahaha! Oh well…better to laugh than cry, right?!

It definitely smells better that way.

Unless, of course, a toot slips out while you’re laughing…then things might get fishy smelling again!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA. You probably couldn’t tell that I’m tired, could you!!?? ROFL

Goodnight!

Surely Goodness & Mercy

Mercy…that’s been on my mind a LOT lately. Thinking about it, trying to give it, and mostly asking for just a little more! Lord help.

ANYWHO, second illustrator class. Came home to practice working with the pen tool and added in some practice with typing on a path. It’s subtle but it’s there…and readable, if you’re patient and familiar with the Twenty-third Psalm. =)

Life is hard, but God’s still good. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

In Which She Apologizes

Oh my word…have I ever been absent….

Absent minded as usual, but also absent from posting here for awhile. I got online to blog like 5 different times and then got totally distracted and got busy doing other things on the computer.

Things like…dreaming of vacations and googling crazy things I found on pinterest that will likely never happen in reality….

1422222109

1426435624

Like for instance, getting a $900-$2100 rooftop tent to put on our truck to go camping in….never gonna happen.

BUT LOOK HOW COOL!

I never even knew such a thing existed!!! Crazy, right?

Wanna see something even funnier? It’s a double never gonna happen….a mini cooper with a rooftop tent….but how funny!

rooftop-tent

In my adventurous other life, I’d totally do something like this and road-trip all summer long.

That would be so fun! But ah well…dreaming is fun, too. It just makes it difficult to get blogs posted. Hahah.

Other things keeping me busy:

English: Terribly disgusting business, that grammar stuff. On the bright side though, the teacher is allowing us to work at our own pace, which means I’ve already finished all but the last unit plus the final exam…and the class isn’t supposed to end until July 20-something. I wanted to get the entire thing including the last unit (which is a horrible research paper) finished before the kids get out of school this week, but I’m going to have to settle because I’m not going to have the time to finish that unit this week. It requires some pretty heavy thought and research (How does globalization affect photography?), and I can’t do any more this week. Some people are brilliant at this stuff, but even these comparatively lightweight assignments just kill me!

Summer planning: OH my word…the kids are swimming again this year, plus taikwando, plus band camp for my rising middle schooler (GASP…MIDDLE SCHOOLER!), plus basketball camp for my rising 4th grader, plus hopefully a vacation somewhere in there, plus mission team work week, plus photographing an event, plus….well, there’s the idea anyway.

Home maintenance and gardening: Well, that pretty much says it all, but to be more specific, we finally finished the destruction, cleaning, painting, and re-screening of the screen porch. Besides that, the basement clean-out, while slower than before, has still continued. We tore down the old mailbox (a job and a half) and replaced that, and added a nice little flower bed around it. It’s adorable. Then there’s the garden…it’s growing splendiforously, but has yet to produce anything major. Just a bit of lettuce so far, and a small crop of basil. The stinkin’ cuke plant has climbed its stick teepee and is almost taller than the house now, but still only has flower blooms…no cukes. Is there such a thing as too much fertilizer?

Back to the basil, the most wonderful herb ever invented. I have a little food processor now. I found it at TJ Maxx on clearance for $10. Best $10 I’ve ever spent. I’ve made homemade pesto 3 or 4 times now I think. It’s fantastico! I adore homemade pesto. Did I say ADORE? YES. SOOOOO good. Not even kidding. I got the general recipe from pinterest (of course) but I always add or leave out stuff, so it’s never exactly the same…but always brilliantly yummy!

Also in the subject of brilliant inventions: CONTACTS! YES! I finally have eye insurance, so I went back to get the contact fitting. Three samples and lots of trying again and again to put in and remove said contacts without stabbing my eyes out…I am a happy contact wearer! I love seeing without having to wear glasses!

So yeah. I’ve been a busy little beaver. Because you see, everything above is just the tiny tip of a huge Titanic sized iceberg.

That’s just a few little things. I haven’t even gone into half the stuff that goes on in my poor little absent minded brain.

I would apologize for that, but I think that deserves a “you’re welcome” instead! LOL

So I’m sorry for being gone so long, but you’re welcome for not un-loading all my crazy. ;-)

Have a lovely day…night…daynightdaynight….or however long it is until I make another appearance. =)

Opryland

Oh my word. This is crazy. This hotel is insanely confusing.

It's in a circle. ....kinda like a clock....I wonder if this is where the concept of the arena of the hunger games originated?

Besides drama over room arrangements, our group is pretty much settled in here at Opryland. Imaging starts tomorrow and I'm pretty excited to see how this will go. Hopefully smoother than musical rooms. Lol.

Also, my computer bit the dust so all blogging is from my phone now and I can't get to comments easily. I see them but I can't reply...so in answer to last post comment, I use a hard copy calendar because I always forget to add events to my phone calendar. It's just that I occasionally forget to check my hard copy calendar. Oops. But only occasionally.

And because my computer died, so did my cool blogging app that let me move photos around in a post. Grrr. So. Oh well.
Time to go call the kids.

Later, y'all. :)

Stuffed to the Gills

#1 – my belly…

And on that topic, let me just say that it’s a skinny girl problem that when you gain a few pounds and it’s pretty much only noticeable by you, you really don’t get to talk much about how you need to work out and get that jiggle back off, because everybody just hates you. No, I’m not fat, but when I gain ten pounds (and I have), I feel it just like everybody else does. I’m smiling. =) So. I ran that 5K back a couple posts ago (or a couple months, but who’s counting) and I survived. I even ran a few miles a couple mornings in the following weeks. Then I kinda fell off again. BUT…a couple of us girls get together and walk anywhere from 2.5 to 4 miles through town a couple of days a week, so that’s something. And then I thought that was good enough but the jiggle wasn’t going away, so when we girls were talking, my friend was telling us how she had started doing a Jillian Michaels 30 day shred video on YouTube and it was killing her even though she didn’t think she was in that bad of shape…

Yep. I decided to try it. And…I’m not in shape either. Holy sha-moly, my abs and legs are KILLING me. I’m on like day 3 and the jiggle is getting better already. But then I sort of ate at a buffet tonight. And now….oh my belly. I’ll be good again tomorrow. =) =) Here’s a picture I forgot to share from a few weeks back when we were at this same buffet for the Munchkin’s TENTH birthday! Oh my. And yes, she has one candle and zero more candles…that stands for 10.  hahahahaha

Before I move on…today was my first Dr Pepper in like, weeks! I am so proud of me. It’s only my 53rd time quitting. ROFL.

#2 – my suitcases

Okay, they’re not stuffed to the gills right this moment, but they are sure getting a work out in May/June. So far in May, I’ve went along with Munchkin’s fourth grade class to the Outer Banks on a school field trip and then to Myrtle Beach with my family. My friends on FB have probably already seen most of the pictures in this post, including this one, but I’ll share here anyway. =)

This one is from our family trip to Myrtle. I didn’t take a ton of pics on this trip…I was too busy trying to recover from the terrible awful field trip chaperoning the week before…haha.

Here’s a couple of pics from the chaperoning weekend…

On the bus:
During the 45 minutes of beach time we got for the entire trip…lol.

And a couple from Munchkin’s camera:

#3 – this blog post

Because that’s what happens when you don’t post frequently enough to update everything in a couple of small paragraphs. LOL.

And here’s where I just jam everything else in:

Father-in-law wanted his antique crosscut saw painted, so I painted it for him for Father’s Day…gave it to him tonight. =) I think he liked it. It looks cooler in person than in pictures, but it was a pretty fun project.

10403975_10203698154437021_2353530981596671345_o

I finally cleaned the kitchen up really nice and took pictures to compare to the before pictures of this project… (in case it’s not obvious, the second ones are the AFTER photos…lolol)

kitchen-web-2kitchen-web-3kitchen-web-4

My last studio lighting project for school. Food photography…totally fun!!

And I think that’s PLENTY for one post. I’d promise to come back more often, but June is INSANELY booked, so I better not promise NOTHIN. LOL.

If you’re still here, still reading, wow, you’re awesome. Have a lovely evening!! =)

12:00 AM

Sheesh.  That is the time I am STARTING this post.  So sorry, Aunt C…I’m only a few days late.  =)  I never even opened my computer the last couple of days.

The in-laws wanted the kids this weekend so we had some grown-up time…WOOT.  So we went car shopping.  Didn’t purchase, just window shopped.  We have got ourselves stuck on our car because we drive way too much.  That’s the penalty of long and frequent commuting for business and pleasure…high mileage and low trade value.  Oh well.  We haven’t decided exactly how we want to dig ourselves out of this hole yet, so we’re still driving ol’ Odysseus.  It’s all good.

And because I love great segues, here’s something else good that’s been waiting on my camera for me to blog again.  KC’s dad gave this to KC’s mom many many years ago.  Times change, things happen…anyway, this little cutie was begging me to snatch it from the clutches of the yard-sale and since it had a double whammy of KC remembering his dad buying it, plus being a handy spot to store little things….well…hooray for make-overs.

The before shot is missing a few handles because I had already dug into taking it apart before I remembered to grab my camera.  The coffee had nothing to do with my getting ahead of myself…I’m sure my body was not racing ahead of my brain at all.

IMG_1566webIMG_1575webIMG_1565webIMG_1581web

I painted the velvet sectioned interior, and then covered the bottoms of each part in fabric.  It turned out totally adorable and I actually have worn my watch several times now that I know where to find it…lol.

IMG_1580web

IMG_1597ewebAlso, K-man graduated from Kindergarten and Munchkin passed second grade.  Now I have a 1st and 3rd grader.  *gulp*

The pictures didn’t turn out at all from either event, but I did get this one of K-man and his teacher/assistant.  They were awesome.  Munchkin’s teacher was great, too, but I didn’t get a picture of her.  And both kids teachers loved the little gardens.  =)  Yay.

I think that’s about all the update.  Tonight we went out with friends…had a great time and I am the weirdest cross between wired and tired right now.  Guess that explains the 12:48am blogging while my eyes are burning.  (Just for you, Aunt C…LOL…oh yes, and I’m sorry I missed your call tonight…didn’t hear the phone or get your message early enough to call you back…will try to get with you tomorrow.)  Anyway, my brain is on but my body is tired, so I guess I’ll go see if my body can control my brain.

One last thing before I go….this instagram pic I took today.  I finally got all my plants planted and not in these rootbound tiny cups that were slowly being tortured to death on our roasting back deck.  I was laughing because I brought these two wilted guys in to get them soaked up again, and I turn the water on a drip so that the water doesn’t just run through them and not do any good.  And as I watched the single drip make a tiny burrow into the soil, I thought…sheesh…my poor plants.  They know no end to suffering.  First dehydration and sunburn, then chinese water torture.  LOL.

I could hear them crying out for mercy.  Poor plants…my house is like death row for green things.

On the bright side---there’s sunshine.  rofl…sorry.  That was really bad.  No, I was going to say on the bright side, once I get things planted in dirt with lots of growing room, they seem to thrive.  My garden for example…I had to trim it back today because it is already attempting to take over nearby things…like yard/steps/neighboring plants/etc.

Somehow it’s now almost 1 and we have to get up early to go get our little hooligans in the morning so I HAVE to get off.

Goodnight.

Good Day…

Well, I made it in before Wednesday, which seems to be my day for blogging…but just by the skin of my teeth.  LOL.

Do teeth have skin anyway?

_MG_2945ewebSo it’s not been a spectacular day or anything but the pictures I did yesterday turned out well (Thank God…I always fret that something will go wrong), and I got lots of exercise, and I didn’t have to battle anyone over homework, and I woke up this morning, and the PMS pills finally did their job, and I gained a little self-confidence…………

All things considered, a good day.

So I got a phone call the other day, and in the conversation, my blog was likened to a suspense novel that never ends and you never find out the answers, so from henceforth on, I’ll do my best to keep my vague references to my personal difficulties to a minimum.  I won’t tell you who it was or what our conversation is about, because some people might not like it.  Uh…maybe I should try harder.  ROFL!

But it’s like I told them…it’s not that I really care all that much what people think of me (although…I really don’t want people to hate me…who really does?), I just know that if I spoke my mind on any number of topics, there are a number of people who might not exactly hate me, but I would never hear the end of it…and I just don’t wanna have to deal with some things.

I think I’m right, they think they’re right, and I prefer amiable relationships to constant debate.  So some topics are better left un-talked about.

So now I’m un-talking.

How did I get here again?

Yeah, it was a good day.  Hopefully a good night to follow.

And last night I had REALLY strange dreams.  No, I mean seriously weird dreams.  So weird that I can only remember random bits and pieces that wouldn’t even make sense to try to piece together, so I’m not even going to bother.  And since I’m coherent, I won’t bother by accident either.  KC likes to get me talking right when I’m still half asleep from a dream and think I’m still there, so I say really weird things and then as I become fully awake, I realize how goofy what I’m saying sounds and that he is laughing at me.  Thankfully, neither one of us ever remember the next morning, other than the fact that we had a conversation and one of us was laughing.  LOL.

Okay…I’m leaving now.  Sweet dreams. =)

Retrospect

So I’m listening to one of those morning shows on the local Christian radio station this morning as I was taking the kids to school…and they’re talking about how they were in there at 6 in the morning and the girl comes in to get the trash first thing in the morning….

And I had a moment.

A moment where I really missed my old job.

The job where there were dj’s just down the hall in the studio and I was in my office bright and early in the morning and everything was quiet because I was one of the few people who was ever there bright and early…and I had plenty of peace to work on my projects (and occasionally take a few seconds to blog…that was back in the day when I posted way more frequently since I was on a computer every day/all day).

And the super sweet cleaning lady always came in REALLY early (before me, even) and would come in and get my trash and tell me good morning and stop and chat for a moment.  And then I would get back to my work and she would go on down the hall to the next office.

Now I AM the cleaning lady.  And I’m not nearly so cheerful and sweet.  (I’m sure the fact that I have no paycheck to pick up from the business office every month has nothing to do with that…lol)

But it is really nice to be able to go back to bed if I want…and not have those afternoons where it seems like 5:00 will NEVER arrive.  And not have to drive forever and a day to get home…

Okay.  I’m good now.  =)

Well.

IMG_5027ewebI’m doing it again.  Bringing you some picture edits in place of an in-depth post.  Really, I have no time for this either, but well…here we are again.  I’m really hoping for a few moments to sit down and catch up on writing again soon, but I’m not quite sure when that will be, and rather than neglect the ol’ blog completely, I’m just posting a few more edits.  I’m sure Kelbs will be happy about it.  *GRIN*

I don’t know why I really liked a lot of their shots in black and white, but I tried not to ONLY post those, so here are a few NOT b/w.  *grin*

Naturally I’m such a rebel, I have to post at least one more of the others anyway.  Whatever. Thanks for looking and for the comments which I have not had time to respond to…I still appreciate them. *grin*

Crazy Life

Well, it’s been a week.  I’m tellin ya.  Munchkin is having a heyday at school.  I’m working my tail off at home.  Didn’t sleep good last night.  Haven’t felt very creative for the past few days…kinda up and down….just feelin a bit “eh” and I hate that feeling.  September is going to be a crazy busy month, but all I can do is just chomp down and get through it.  Will hopefully post more sometime soon about what’s been going on, but in the meantime I’ve got to go get Munchkin from school.  I just wanted to make sure I posted so I wouldn’t be guilty of non-blogging.  LOL.

Here’s the scavenger hunt I’m joining for Sept…like I have time, right?  But I can’t resist.  =)

A Full Weekend

IMG_9434e2web I’ll come back and post pics of some of it later, but I was working on these from Saturday and couldn’t resist going ahead and posting a link over to them.  *GRIN*

This one down below….

Well, it was so appropriate.  *GRIN*  I think it might have been one of my favorites.  LOL!

Anyway.  They’re all up here.

Oh yeah, and my business cards came.  They turned out SOO cool.  I feel all important.  I said I FEEL all important.  That’s not the same as BEING.  HAH.

I’ll be back maybe tomorrow to finish up the weekend recap.

Busy Beaver

Well, I have gotten home and all back into the swing of things….and again I find myself occupied and away from the blog.  *sigh*

I’m trying to get caught up on the final lessons of the photo editing class.

I finally caved on doing those Vistaprint freebies and created and ordered myself some business cards.  Here’s what is supposed to be coming:
AFPhotographyBCweb

The funny part is how many shots it took to get this, with me trying to set it up and take it using my kid as the tripod/self-timer.  Oh well.  It still beat me having to get up and go hit the button again every time.  Although had I really given it consideration, I probably would have used the tripod and just got the munchkin to hit the button.  LOL.  If there’s ever a next time, I’ll have to keep that in mind.  I think the image turned out pretty cool though.  I used several of the techniques I learned in class.

I should post a few of the outtakes…hahaha. Maybe I’ll use the outtakes for the last class thing I need to do…it’s a collage anyways, so it’d work perfect.  LOL!

Maybe I can get to that tomorrow since tonight is almost over.  LOL!

I’m trying to get the photos from the Ohio trip uploaded and etc.
grandma storyboardHere’s probably the only one that I’ll ever get back around to uploading.  Unless of course, I end up using some Ohio shots for….well…see next paragraph….

There’s that little mini photo hunt (actually TWO) that I’m still working on getting pictures for…

I took the kids to play in the water at one of the city parks today.IMG_9265

IMG_9106I did this trash to treasure project from last week’s thrift store finds – this project took me like an entire week to do just because of all the drying time and then we went away and I wasn’t here to finish it…

I actually did both of the frames exactly the same (only they are made out of different stuff) but the “after” shot of the rectangle frame turned out lousy so I didn’t post it.  So both frames went from wooden and blah to IMG_9271chalkboards.  *grin*  I like them.  But I definitely don’t care for painting chalkboard paint on glass.  Takes WAY too long and it’s too hard to keep the lines out of it.  I’m thinking of putting scrabble tiles on the edges but I lost the link that had some ideas for sayings to use.  I thought about putting “PRAY WITHOUT CEASING” on one and using it for a prayer list but I’m not sure yet.  I might just leave them the way they are cuz they look pretty neat.

Anyways, that’s my last few days…oh plus laundry.  Lots of laundry.  NOT pictured.  LOL!

Random Conversations

This morning while getting ready to eat breakfast:
Mommy: "Do you want to pray, Munchkin?"
Munchkin: "Yes. Thank you for this food, bless our bodies, Amen. (pause) Oh yeah, bless Bruder Ken, Amen. (pauses and looks up to find me looking at her strangely b/c she very very rarely puts any addendums on her prayers) Mommy, Bruder Ken need pwa-er today."
Mommy (chuckling a little bit): "Yes, honey, that was very good of you."

While I was changing a yucky diaper:
Mommy: "Why did you do *'ew gross' in your diaper instead of the potty?"
K-man: "Cu I sai so."
Mommy (trying NOT to crack a smile): "K-man, no, you don't tell mommy that."
*ew gross is his term for poo....I guess because every time I change his diaper, it's discusting and I say "ew, GROSS." LOL!!!

When I got into the car after loading up four bags of trash in the back to take to the dump:
Munchkin: "Good GOB (job), mommy! You have BIG muscles. When I grow up, I have big muscles like you, right?"

After watching Daddy put a bandaid on his finger:
Munchkin: "Daddy, you need Bruder Ken to pway for your finger. I'll tell him he needs to pway for you, kay?" (Then she tracks me down on the other end of the house and explains the situation with daddy's finger to me and says "Mommy, I 'mind (remind) Bruder Ken to come pway for daddy's finger, kay?")

(for some reason, she is stuck on "Bruder Ken" today...LOL...she prayed for "Bruder Ken and Kiter {Sister} Tesa" tonight at bedtime, too....after she asked me who all to pray for and I said, how bout the boys who stayed with us the other night, so she prayed for the boys and then added on the other ones....and then was like oh yeah and Kiby and Mo-gi. LOL!!!)

Daddy gets in the car and hears the gist of the conversation and chuckles with mommy.
Daddy: "Really, Munchkin, he was kidding with you."
Munchkin: "Oh."

LOL!!! Funny....she believed Daddy. Haha.

Oh and here's an adult conversation in the grocery store that was slightly humorous:
Bag Boy (talking to me): "That's a cool shirt!" (I was wearing a company shirt from the place where I used to work)
Me: "Oh, thanks."
Bag Boy: "How much did you have to pledge to get one of those?"
Me (shrugging): "Well, I used to work there, so I kinda got it for free."
Bag Boy: "WOW. COOL! What did you do there?"
Me (laughing now): "Uh....well....designed these shirts."
Bag Boy: "Hey, that's really cool!"
Me (still laughing): "Well, thanks."
*EDITED TO ADD PHOTO....I had to delete the pertinent information that would be a dead giveaway to the location. LOL. Obviously it would look much better without the blurry and erased parts. LOL.*

Anywho. That's all that I can think of right now. I have dirty sandy feet from walking through the parking.....field (LOL)....and I need to get busy finishing my internet stuff so I can go wash my feet and go to bed.
