Dino-Man
(PS...this was whispered to me during church. I have no idea if there IS such a dinosaur as a my-lant-e-o-saurus. But I love that "stick K-man" has a screaming face and the giant dinosaur has a scary face. LOL! Click on the picture and it gets bigger...)
5 Ways You Know You're in the ER Too Early
- You spend twenty minutes staring at the newspaper machine and wondering how it knows which day is Sunday to charge $2...
- You yawn five hundred times in a row.
- You can't figure out how a vending machine can really have hot and fresh chicken at the touch of a button like the front is advertising...
- But you're tempted to go try it, because your stomach is the only part of your body that's actually awake.
- Everybody in the waiting room has their eyes closed and you're pretty sure it's not because they are praying.
And you're ready to go home, but that has nothing to do with the time of morning...
Oh...and we're here because KC has a bad ear infection (for 4 days now) and couldn't stand the pain any longer.

Naughty Me
Yes, that would be me. My MIL saw my redneck ladder and says since I’m still alive to beat, she’s going to give me a few good whacks for that one. LOL. Yes, I know. Naughty me.
And naughty me for taking so long between posts. KC was out of town for a few days and my motivation flew on the plane with him to Texas. =) And let’s face it, I was too busy chasing creaking noises in the house and trying to keep the dogs from chasing ghosts because they are a lot more vocal about it than I am. And you know, at 2am, it’s pretty important not to run through the house barking because humans need their sleep. LOL. Really though, I was kidding about chasing creaking noises in the house though…I got over that a few years ago. The dogs on the other hand, I was not kidding about. I leave them out while the hubby’s gone because let me tell you, when it comes to noises or people coming in the house, they are NOT friendly. Which makes me feel pretty good. LOL.
And then my final “naughty” moment: I applied for another creative team…mostly because I didn’t expect to get it…except…lol….I did. =) I’m really excited though because it’s a really cool store team. So I get to do creative work with a variety of designer’s kits. And it’s the store that the designer I already work for sells at, so it works really well for me. =) I’m pretty excited…it’s a little different than I’m used to, but I think I’m getting the hang of it already. =) We haven’t gotten our February creative assignments yet, but I’ve already got my additional duties for February pretty much out of the way. =) There are going to be some cool challenges and things going on over at the Plum next month (and not just cuz I’m there now either…haha)…so you should hop over and check it out. I’m thinking with all the scrapping I’m going to be doing, I should totally be caught up by this time next year. *grin*
Anyway…that’s been my naughtiness –for now (lol). Oh and look…isn’t this –-> adorable? I created it with a kit from a new designer (Farynar’s Wings) who is going to be opening her store on 2/1 at Polka Dot Plum. I made it for the cell phone challenge…it fits my screen resolution on my phone and I uploaded it to verizon and sent it to myself, so now it’s my background on my phone. AWWW. =)
Okay…off now. Got to figure out which of KC’s suitcases has my motivation stowed away in it.

Who Needs Ladders?
Sunday afternoon, K & I painted our Sunday School room. It’s a happy color. Kinda like the boiler room. LOL. People will know exactly which paint jobs Faith had a hand in at the church…
Not such a happy color when it’s in a puddle on the carpet though. They don’t call me “Grace” for nothin’! Heh. And in case you’re wondering, I was FINE on the redneck ladder. When we upgraded to a real ladder for the second half of the ceiling trim, I decided to skip the last step--while holding paint in one hand and a brush in the other. Thank God for friends who catch us when we fall. Even if their husband suggests that perhaps she should have let me fall and catch the paint instead. LOL.
And when little guy here said, “That looks kinda dangerous—but FUN!” and proceeded to make his own redneck ladder, I DID say…”Kid, this IS extremely dangerous and you should NEVER try this at home!”
Now we just have to go back and paint the trim white. Thankfully the trim is all on my level…no ladders, real or rigged, required. =)
Dancing Like Wolves
After church on the way home last night we stopped to pick up a snack from…”You know when it’s real” because we weren’t in the “I’m lovin’ it” mood…(LOL).
K-man: Daddy, can I have my drink?
KC: Yes, one sip. And then you can have another sip before bed, but you can’t have the whole thing because you’ll P the bed. P boy. (said with humor…he wasn’t being mean…lol)
K-man: Don’t say that.
KC: Boy P
K-man: Don’t say that a-GAIN. If you say that again…I’ll….shake your hand.
KC: Really?
K-man: Yes. Is that okay? Does that work for you?
KC: Well…I guess so. (trying to hide laughter)
K-man: Cause your phone makes me dance.
KC: (looking at Faith with a confused look on his face) Really?
K-man: Yeah. Like a WOLF!
KC AND Faith: Oh-KAY?????!!!!
Kids do say the funniest things…. Munchkin told me this morning that while I was gone yesterday, that Daddy played the “com-piano” and he was very good. LOL.
And today K-man told me that Munchkin has a Chicka-WaWa. I was like, a what? “A shi….shick….uh…chick-a-wawa! You know, her little dog??”

Still Kickin…
I got a package in the mail today and nearly did the happy dance in front of Mr. Postal Delivery Dude. I got my 73 scrapbook pages. SEVENTY-THREE! PAGES! I was a teensy tiny bit behind on printing. But I put all the pages in order and into scrapbooks. Filled 2 up and then a few random pages for other projects. *googly eyes* I’m so happy to feel almost caught up. I’m not, of course…and putting them into the albums made me realize that I totally missed a few major events…like Christmas—two years in a row. Oops. So I have a few holes to fill, but most of 2009-10 is done and I need to finish up 06, 07, and 08 and then it will just be 11. Yay!
We took the kids to the big gray mouse place tonight…they did pretty well…we’re finally getting to the place where we can actually have a little fun with them at places like that. Haha…you know, before—they have fun but mom and dad leave frustrated because the kids don’t listen and they don’t have a clue about how the games work….lol. Now they actually can play the games so it’s a little more fun to take them there. Teehehe. They were cracking me up on the little kid air hockey game…K-man was karate chopping the little puck thing (as in, every time he hit it he had a sound effect—hiiii---yahhh!…lol) Hilarious.
I also went to Wally World this morning. Dr. Pepper was on sale. Next week I’ll quit for the 783rd time.
That was a not so proud moment, but I AM so proud of myself for this next part…I put myself on a grocery freeze and I’m trying to use up all the food in the pantry. You know those things you pick up on sale here and there and before you know it, you have a pantry full of tomato sauce cans but no spaghetti. And the random snacks that never get completely finished and stack up in the back. So I’m on a mission to use up instead of throw out. So far I’ve only bought maybe $80 of groceries this month. And most of that was just milk and bread and a few random staples that I ran out of…garlic powder, parmesan cheese, taco seasoning…that sort of thing. =) Nobody’s gone hungry yet. =) LOL. KC’s diet’s going well though. Particularly on nights when I’m using up the vegetables…haha!
A little bit of random, I had a weird dream this morning. Actually I’ve had a lot of weird dreams here lately, but most of them are so awful I can’t even repeat them…lol. This morning I dreamed that I was sleeping in my bed and the dogs were curled up on the bed with me and I woke up (in my dream) and saw Ahsoka coming down the stairs but it wasn’t Ahsoka because she was laying on the bed next to me. It was just a dog that looked just like her and I was freaking out because we can’t keep THREE dogs and I couldn’t figure out where this third dog came from and then I picked it up and it wasn’t as big as I thought it was, it was a puppy but it was like a special needs puppy…it had a second head growing out of it’s main head. Oh it was bad. I was so upset.
And finally, I’d like to report that after KC cracked my back for me, most of the pain went away and I just have a bruise on my hip from my trip down the stairs. LOL’ed at all the comments from that one. *grin* But I am still alive and not in too much misery. =)
Off for now! =)

PSA
The best way to go down stairs is on your feet, not your back and rear end.
Because if you do go down on your back and rear end, you will sit on the bottom stair and wonder why nothing hurts terribly bad and then you will go along about your day and then half an hour later, you will move and you will feel this awful pain from your neck all the way down your spine and into your rear end and you will remember that you wondered why nothing hurt terribly bad and you will know it was just a delayed reaction.
And then you will wonder how long it will take to stop hurting again.
Just sayin’.

Really?
So KC had a rough day at work today and after he got home he was ready for some wind down time. So I cleaned the folded laundry off the bed so that KC could lay down, got the kids settled into quiet activities, took the basket back into the laundry room, came out and shut the door behind me, and then quietly called the dogs so that I could take them downstairs to complete the circle of quietness for KC. Only, only one dog showed up when I called. So I retraced my steps, quietly calling the missing dog. After I walked the house and no dog, I started opening closed doors. When I opened the laundry room door, there she was. Quietly standing there in the dark, waiting for mommy to come back and open the door for her. She wasn’t whining, not scratching the door or ANYTHING. I didn’t even see her come in behind me when I took the basket in there…oops. Poor puppy.
And then I turned on a kid flick for K-man and told him he could go up and tell Munchkin that she could clean up what she was playing with and come down if she wanted to watch. And she came downstairs to tell me that “thank you, but no.” REALLY? This from the child who a-DORES mindless entertainment? Seriously…she prefers it 9 times out of 10 to having to actually use her brain to play…lol. But tonight she played with all the barbie peoples…ALL evening. Didn’t want to leave her room. The world is coming to an end. =)
Anyway, that’s about it…I’m tired…think I’ll hop off here. =)

Bored
I’ve got the Munchkin syndrome. Boredom. LOL. She can never ever find something to do…she prefers to stand around and stare at people in hopes they will entertain her. Bless her heart, apparently it’s contagious. *wry grin*
I’ve read all the blogs. I’ve checked my mail five hundred times. I even scrapbooked with PAPER today (as opposed to digital…lol). And by the way, digital has completely spoiled me. LOL.
I’m just totally in a Munchkin mood. Argh. LOL. My nerves are shot. Here’s hoping tomorrow is a better day…for all of us.

Who’s A Hero?
Random conversation in the car on the way home from church last night: (We went to the church which is almost an hour’s drive away, so plenty of time in the car for random conversations! LOL)
K-man (playing his DS): Momma? My hands are getting all sweaty!
Me: It is a little stuffy, I guess.
K-man: *sigh* Yeah, it is. (like he knew what “stuffy” meant…lol)
KC (rolling down the windows a few inches): *pause* There…how’s that?
K-man: Yeahhhhh, that’s good! *pause* Daddy SAVESSSS the day!
Yep, that’s my honey, a window-crackin’ super hero! Hahahah!

Woot!
My favorite designer ever is having a rare CT call!! If you’re interested in being on one of the best teams around, you should apply! =) Here’s the details:
Her store is at Polka Dot Plum and she has some gorgeous goodies stashed in there!
Speaking of her gorgeous goodies, she just released a new template set today and here’s my layout with it:
I also used one of her other recent kits, Jingle Jangle.
Fonts: Myriad Pro, Retro Rock Poster
Fun, fun, fun…
Speaking of fun, today I’m going through all my created layouts on my computer and sorting them out into folders by year…I have GOT to get them printed. The good news is that the place where I want to get them printed is running a special on 12x12’s for $1 each (if you order 35 or more). And I easily can reach that…haha. Probably twice. I am WAY behind on printing. I have to get these sorted and figure out which ones to print before the special runs out on the 16th of January though…and that is fast approaching.
Seriously? We’re almost halfway through January already? WHAT?—How is that possible???

I’m Dreaming of a White….
January 10th?? Funny, that just doesn’t have the same ring to it….lol.
This picture is titled “Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing.” This bush looks all innocent and peaceful with it’s snowy sheep suit on, but don’t dare get too close or a yelping you’ll be. Why in the world the previous owners thought it would be a good idea to put these all around the lower patio AND all around the pool, is beyond me.
Anywho…today was a hot homemade potato soup kind of day. See that evil bush up there? I was editing the picture and forgot that hot homemade potato soup. Stupid bush. Pokes me even when I’m inside the house. Burned all the water off the potatoes and the bottom layer was crusty dark brown and inedible. I rescued the top layer and put it in a new pot and added water and milk and had homemade soup anyway. It was still good. No thanks to the bush. Of course, it had nothing at all to do with my lack of memory…lol. Ah well. Soup was still good.
After-soup breath, on the other hand….
Moving on, it has been snowing ALL day. Since sometime in the middle of the night. And not just snowing, HEAVY snow…and it’s sticking, but after about 3 inches, it doesn’t look like it’s getting any deeper. Just kinda reminds me of a perpetual snow globe. White ground, snow pouring down, but never changing the landscape. Yeah, weird. I know.
Munchkin was out of school and KC’s work was closed…so it was like an extra Saturday. Consequently, my weekday routine is all out of whack. Ha. Oh well.
Well, I can’t think of any more random for now, so I’ll just leave with a few pics.
Obi has a dark side
&
Ahsoka has an ear to the ground
…wonder if she heard anything good from the floor?
G-night now. =)

Brotherly Love
I came upon these two in the chair the other day and HAD to grab the camera. Four chairs in the living room and one of them big enough for both, but they had to both sit in the single recliner. The part that got me was Obi had his paw around Soka. AWW…
Be kindly affectioned
one to another with
brotherly love; in
honour preferring one
another;
-Romans 12:10
Now if I could just get the kids to learn THIS part and not the biting, wrestling, growling at each other part…lol.
Anyway, because I can’t leave a decent post without a little bit of random, I have to throw in here that I took the dogs to the humane society today. The gentle leaders almost weren’t enough. *googley eyes* They are now almost tied in weight at 80 and 85 pounds. And they don’t have heartworms. And the humane society has prevention pills for the worm things a LOT cheaper than the vet…in case any of ya’ll need a moneysaving tip. *grin* ANYWAY…the dogs ALMOST have the hang of riding in the car without trying to sit in my lap in the driver’s seat the entire ride. Obi sat in the back seat and Soka sat up front with me. Except for Obi trying to come up and join us about 13 times, it was a peaceful, comfortable ride.
Oh and completely unrelated, but our power went out for 2 hours this morning. Even the little things were impossible. K-man doing school because you don’t need electricity for that right? But oh…his pencil needs to be sharpened. Um…yeah. No laundry, no fixing my hair to get ready to take the dogs to the HS, nada. Thankfully the hot water heater is gas and the water was still functioning, so the shower worked. =)
Today was the most eventful day this week! LOL. I also nearly had a stroke this afternoon. I had to fill the gas tank up. *meep* I feel much better about staying close to home all week and not running around very much. Usually this would be the second fill up of the week…whew!
That’s enough random, I reckon. ;-)
Later gators!

Where Do I Start?
I have this funny feeling that the random that ruled the roost my posts through the month of December is probably here to stay for awhile. Hopefully that doesn’t bother anyone…lol…not that I can help it if it does. =)
KC turned old today. LOL. I try not to rag him (much) since I’m going to be turning old in a couple months. We didn’t have a big party, just a nice quiet night at home (per his request). Course, that suits me just fine…I love quiet nights at home. I made him a disgustingly sinful, calorie-loaded, hot chocolate lava cake. With vanilla ice cream on the side…the dish was pretty much plain sugar. If it wasn’t the easiest thing in the world to make, I would never make it again, because that one bowl used up my daily calorie allowance for a full week, but it was so easy. And so good. Think chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream on top and then drowning it in liquid syrupy hot chocolate icing.
I just gained another pound writing about it.
For the record, it’s one of those pampered chef brilliant recipes…
Make up a box of devils food cake according to the package directions. Dump a container of chocolate icing in a microwave safe large dish (I used the pampered chef large glass mixing bowl which is oven/microwave safe) and then pour the prepared cake mix on top of it. Microwave for 10 minutes (no lid) and then dump out in a dish with sides (because you don’t want to lose all that yummy gooey syrup).
And there’s another pound. I have to stop talking about it now or the scales will think I grew another person overnight.
Moving on…I haven’t picked up my camera or uploaded any pics in ages…since Christmas I guess…at this rate my computer hard drive won’t be overloaded anytime soon…
Munchkin’s back in school. Mommy is just a little bit happy about that! And then today she forgot her backpack and lunch for the first time all year…and Mommy didn’t even realize it until like 1:30…walked all around it all day and never even thought about the fact that during the school day it wasn’t supposed to be hanging on the hook in the kitchen. Durrr…oh well.
My phone is dying. It’s been beeping for ages now and I don’t feel like going upstairs and plugging it up. For one, I’m lazy. And for another, every time I move, the dogs follow me. Between the kids and the dogs, I NEVER go to the bathroom alone. ROFL. How did I get on that subject?
Speaking of the dogs, they are all settled down here in the basement…in the kids beanbags. The dogs have pretty much taken over the two (nearly flattened) beanbags that the kids used to use. They curl up in their adjacent beanbags and off to dreamland…until I get off the couch. Then they magically wake up. And follow. But they’re real cute all curled up in the beanbags. If I wasn’t so lazy, I’d go get the camera and show you. Oh well.
I don’t really know what else to say…as usual I still have a lot on my mind but nothing I can say. Oh well. Such is life.
Have I ever mentioned I hate football? It stresses me out. LOL.
AND I’m going to hit post now and find something else to do for a while. =) It’s only midnight after all.
wq (that was the dog)
Goodnight. =)

Days Like That
Mama said there’d be…
LOL. Thing is, there’s not any real good (or bad) reason to feel that way, just that today was one of those days when everything got on my nerves.
The dogs wouldn’t let us take a nap in peace today so neither one of us got any sleep.
There’s not any Sunday School for another week so we had an extra hour before church and I still managed to be rushing when it was time to leave.
The kids were…kids…
The dog wouldn’t do his thang after he ate this afternoon so I walked around in the cold and walked around and was rushing AGAIN to leave for church.
Just…one of them days.
But really I have nothing to complain about. Except that I just used a preposition to end that last sentence and that irks me. LOL.
Night now…

A Little Housecleaning
In case you didn’t notice, I did a little housekeeping over on the ol’ linky list over there. I went through my google reader and deleted everyone that didn’t post anything at all in 2010. I figured it was time…and now that my list is shorter, maybe I’ll have time to read the ones I still subscribe to. *grin*
A note to my “real life friend” bloggers, you guys who didn’t post last year got the cut, too. Love ya and all, but you really should post. However, if you start blogging again, please please please be sure to tell me so I can link back up and read again. =)
I really miss you guys. =( Especially you, my hubby…who hasn’t blogged since 2008. >:(
Anyways, so that’s that and I updated the header last night and changed the credits down there, too. And there it is…blog is all tidy again. =)
