MIA again…

Well, I’ve been gone again…sorry…it’s been one of those weeks.  Let’s see, where do I start?

Our early “anniversary” trip that we were going to take over thanksgiving while KC’s mom kept the kids for us kinda got shrunk.  First we decided that instead of going out of the country, maybe this year we should stick to someplace within US borders.  Then it got downsized again when we were like, um…maybe we’ll just go to the city up the hill for a couple nights.  And…well, KC’s mom kept the kids for the three days and…um…we went out to dinner and came back home.  And spent the next two days busting our tails while the kids were gone.  Oh well.  Maybe next year.

So Thanksgiving was a workday here at the old house.  I painted the back of the house foundation, painted the back door on the garage (it was stained mud red from the middle on down and no amount of pressure washing would budge it), and took outdoor bleach and scrubbed the fire out of the siding on the back of the house (also mud red) and KC pressure washed it off (looks SO much better now).  And finally, we sanded, primed, and painted the sheet rock patch on the living room wall…that was a job.  But the wall looks GREAT now!

KC’s mom invited us up to eat with them around 5, so we did that and came back home (leaving the kids there…that was a little unusual.  LOL!) and finished cleaning up the house from all the work we’d done during the day.

Friday, we got up early (KC went black friday shopping at five and I slept til 7:30 when he got back) and hit the crawl space…got all the plastic back down and hauled off a bunch of trash to the dump.  How in the WORLD we collected that much TRUE junk is beyond me.  I mean, literally, it was a truck load of stuff that was unusable trash.  Not even stuff you could clean up and re-invent or ANYTHING.  Anyways, we took all that to the dump and then house inspection time…

Our old house passed, only a few minor things that the inspector suggested we change (like there isn’t any weather stripping under the back door because it came off…that sort of thing), so we were pretty satisfied with that.

The new house (well, new OLD house) also passed…also a few fairly minor things.  However, the inspector told us, for a house as old as that one, he found SURPRISINGLY few things wrong with it.  He said it was a very quality built house and it’s held up very well.  He’s not licensed to inspect for termites, so he couldn’t tell us that he found what looks like the beginning of a termite problem.  WE saw them though, so we let the realtor know that it needs to be treated.  LOL.  And the inspector did say that he couldn’t find any structural damage because of anything that he wasn’t licensed to inspect.  Hah.

And finally…are you dying of curiosity?  It killed the cat, you know!  LOL.  Okay, so enough already, right?  Yes, we have a contract on a new house, and from everything we have seen so far, it looks like we’re getting a STEAL.  We’re excited.  Supposed to close on it around Dec 31st, and the current owner asked for 2 weeks after closing to get all her stuff out.  Here’s the photographic tour of the inside of the new place.  And after you look at the pictures, you’ll understand why she asked for 2 weeks after…hahah!  I’ll post an outside photo and more pics when we move in and start doing updates and stuff.

Alright.  It’s library trip day, so I have got to get moving.  I have a little man beside me that is saying, “Please, momma, can I talk?  Can we go to the library now?  Pleasseee??”

Thanks for dropping by.  ;-)

Things Aren’t Always As They Seem

That ditch in front of our house for example.  It’s not as shallow as it appears.  And our truck?  It kinda looks like it could be an off road vehicle, but it’s not.

And the hill on one side of the drive near the ditch at the road?  Well, it doesn’t look so steep that a person would have a hard time climbing up it to throw mulch on it.  *ahem*  It is.

So.  *ahem*  If a person that might seem to be me, (oh wait, it was), were to assume that said ditch wasn’t that deep, and that said truck was fully capable of backing into it, so that said person could much more easily throw the mulch up said hill, said person might just be dumb enough to do it.  Yes, one should never assume.

I have only three more things to say about this story:

  1. the moment my stupid self said person backed into that ditch, the first and ONLY thought in their head was, oh dear heavens, KC IS GOING TO KILL ME!  Please tell me we’re not stuck, oh please, oh please, oh please---NOOOOO……KC IS GOING TO KILL ME!
  2. It was much, much easier to unload the mulch from the truck’s position in the ditch.  Mostly because I said person very nearly rolled the truck over and just dumped it out on that hill.  The ditch was THAT deep.  Oops.
  3. Thank GOD for Triple A!!!!!!!!  Our membership has now paid for itself.  Also, they are amazing…they called like three times while I said person was waiting for the tow truck to get here to pull it out…JUST to make sure that I said person was in a safe place and still doing okay.

Also when it comes to the house, you know, things aren’t always as they seem, there either…not that the rooms were in bad shape before I took pictures, but I

did have to go through real quick and pick up some things and put a few things out of sight before taking pictures…

*sigh*  Just so ya’ll know I’m being perfectly honest here…wouldn’t want anyone to think my house is magazine perfect all the time…cuz that would be a lie.  LOL.  Actually, I think in one of the boy bedroom shots, there is a clump of something that needed to be vacuumed up, that I missed.  Oops.  OH WELL.

And PS, we now have a lockbox on the door and sign out front…it’s officially for sale now.  =)

Our House

Want a tour?  *grin*  It’s all tidy and clean.  (Maybe we should have listed the house AGES ago…it looks so nice now. haha.)

Hopefully, it will be under new ownership in a short amount of time.  ;-)

Child Labor

IMG_5110ewebPerhaps a better title for this post would be something like…more than one way to skin a cat…although, admittedly this would have been the LONG way to skin the cat, since their loads consisted of exactly one shovelful per load.  LOL!IMG_5114eweb

Here are better pictures…the last one was from my cell phone and wasn’t a great shot.  I actually went and got my real camera because they were cracking me up.

Especially watching them dumping their trucks in that little line of piles….SO funny!

IMG_5111ewebThey are in training to get their CDL’s…(rofl)!

K-man kept coming back to me for his next load and this is what he’d say:
“More, please!…THANK YOU! Have a nice DAY!!”

Then Munchkin, (my little control freak) decided SHE wanted to do it her way and fill up the trucks herself.  Then she figured out that the wheelbarrow held more, so she started filling that up (although she couldn’t budge that one) and of course, the K-man followed suit.  So funny! IMG_5116ewebIMG_5122eweb IMG_5120eweb

The gravel pile is SLOWLY, but surely, shrinking.  Praise the Lord.  After busting our tails yesterday to get everything done, I stood up last night after I sat down for a little while and I couldn’t walk.  Literally, my hips and back were like locked up and shooting pain all the way up my back and down my legs.  I was thisclose to just falling down on the floor.  I am quite ready to be done with all the big backbreaking jobs.  I don’t like getting old.  lol!

Hey Look!

I’m back.  Twice in one day.  Be warned, this will more than likely be at least 90% random.  LOL!

First up…the house.  We have been busy little bees.

  • There’s the very large sheetrock patching in progress on the living room wall.
  • Pictures of the gorgeous decor pieces from our fruitful shopping trip to Hobby Lobby tonight (they’re having some GREAT sales, by the way)
  • The framed piece over the bed was a $12 deal from Habitat Restore (I was thrilled with that one!) and the two small pieces over the bed were HL and they coordinate soooo well…I picked them out…I am so proud of myself!

IMG_5084ewebIMG_5086ewebIMG_5087eweb

 IMG_5088ewebIMG_5095eweb IMG_5090ewebIMG_5094eweb

  • Not pictured is the garage (KC cleaned early this morning)
  • Also not pictured is all the places in our house where clutter collects that are now totally (or almost totally) de-cluttered and cleaned
  • Another thing not pictured is the canvas I put on the playground roofs.  It’s dark grey and looks peachy.  I totally rocked on that one because I forgot to measure for how much canvas, and I completely guesstimated it to be 5 yards.  I had about 6 inches left over and the width was right on.

Still on the house thing, we had an appraisal done this morning on our house to find out where we’re at on the home value thing.  In two days, our house will be officially for sale.  EEEEEK!  That kinda makes me sad because I love our little house.  *sigh*  I hope some couple that is looking for a first house (or downsizing) comes along and buys our cozy little place.  If they come along by Monday, that would be just peachy.  LOL!

And now for TOTAL randomness:

  • Munchkin’s therapy has already been quite interesting.  I found it a little humorous when the therapist looked at me with raised eyebrows and said, “She is a very fascinating child.”  I’m pretty sure she was using that word in place of “odd” or “strange” based on her other comments.  LOL.  Another thing I thought was quite interesting was that the therapist told me that she usually could read the situation pretty quickly and easily but that she was getting very mixed and unusual messages from the Munchkin’s behavior and signals.  According to the therapist, we are dealing with some kind of attachment issue/disorder and/or anxiety, and will continue narrowing this down until we figure out what exactly we’re dealing with and exactly HOW to deal with it.
  • Jango (fat cat) is sick.  I’m not sure what’s going on, but I took him to the vet today because--according to our lovely google-ness--he is showing all signs of kidney or bladder stones and needed to see a vet.  However, they didn’t really seem concerned (at least not about anything except the removal of my arm and leg in payment for bloodwork and consultation) so I brought him back home.  Anyone have any suggestions that don’t involve a vet?  Because unless he is in an ungodly amount of pain, I don’t forsee another vet visit in our future.
  • It is absolutely amazing what our kids pick up in church!  For those of you who weren’t at church for the revival last weekend, Bro. R preached one night on the weights.  God requiring things of us and us not wanting to put that thing forth for him and it making our life off balance…well, that’s the general overview….not exactly it, but paraphrasing a bit.  Anyway, he used one of the old fashion balance scales and coins, he would drop like a quarter in one side that God was requiring and a dime in the other side to show what it looked like when people weren’t wanting to fulfill God’s complete requirement and it put their life out of balance.  Of course, there was more to it than that, but I don’t have all night.  LOL.  Also, that night, he got in the pulpit at 9 and preached til almost 10.  Great message, but no one was really expecting him to preach that late.  My kids sat like troupers and were actually not even playing during the sermon (they were tired of their toys because they played with them during the song service because I didn’t expect preaching).  I didn’t think they were listening though because I knew they were tired and their eyes were glazed over and they were just staring the majority of the time.  (teehehe…I might have looked like them a couple times myself…not on purpose of course!)  So…this is turning into a long story, but we were in a thrift store this week and there was a balance weight thing on a lower shelf and K-man points at it and says, “Momma, we need money to put in that!”
  • Driving to church last Sunday (I think it was Sunday), KC swerved and then there was a thump-crunch-crunch
I didn’t see what it was, but I winced.  “It was already dead, right?”
“Nope,” he says, “I think them squirrels have a death wish, I’ve seen I don’t know how many squashed on the road this year.  *long pause*  Population control.”
“You’re awful,” I said, “I am SO blogging that!”

LOL!  And on that note, I’ll wish you goodnight before this post ends up on tomorrows date and I don’t have the two posts in one day that I was bragging about earlier in this post.

Thanks for dropping by! Have a great day (cuz that’s probably when it is by the time anyone actually reads this).  *grin*

Well.

IMG_5027ewebI’m doing it again.  Bringing you some picture edits in place of an in-depth post.  Really, I have no time for this either, but well…here we are again.  I’m really hoping for a few moments to sit down and catch up on writing again soon, but I’m not quite sure when that will be, and rather than neglect the ol’ blog completely, I’m just posting a few more edits.  I’m sure Kelbs will be happy about it.  *GRIN*

I don’t know why I really liked a lot of their shots in black and white, but I tried not to ONLY post those, so here are a few NOT b/w.  *grin*

Naturally I’m such a rebel, I have to post at least one more of the others anyway.  Whatever. Thanks for looking and for the comments which I have not had time to respond to…I still appreciate them. *grin*

Have a lovely afternoon!

In Which I Have No Time

Here’s a post.  Life is killing me right this minute, and I have no time to write…actually, right this minute I *SHOULD* be getting off my computer and fixing some sandwiches for a quick supper before running out the door to choir practice.  BUT.  Here I am.

I did some picture editing today.  I am so behind again on that stuff.  But here are a couple that I did…I figured I’d use them to fill this post.  *grin*

IMG_4996e2web IMG_5022e3web

Hope ya’ll are having a good week so far! =) Will be back in my next free time.  Could be next year.  LOL.  (I’m kidding…I hope).  Haha.

Later!

Totally & Utterly Random

Whoa.  Life is incredibly busy.  I am loving the weather the last couple of days IMG_5082webthough.  We have been working our tails off to get everything done on the house while the weather has been so perfectly cooperative!  The kids have played happily for hours on the playground (glad they’re IMG_5078webgetting a bit more enjoyment out of it before we move away and leave it…lol!) while we have been busting our derrieres.

(Quick funny here, Munchkin informed me today that Mawmaw says that is what you call your bum.  This was after she popped her head in the bathroom and saw me….ahem…using it….and then went on down the hall singing, “DERRIERRRRRRRRREEE, derriEEEERRRRRRREEE!”  I was like, excuse me?  Did I hear you correctly?  That’s when she told me, in a matter of fact tone, “You know…it’s your bottom!”)  I warned you this was random!

IMG_5076webYesterday, KC started the power-washing on the house….and in case you happened to think it was clean before (I did!) I think these pictures quite tell the story.  I tried to get a picture of him actually WORKING, but he WAS the one holding the extremely high-powered water-gun, so I gave in and ONLY took a picture of the house in progress.  He didn’t get finished on the back of the house, but we came home after church today and KC finished power-washing the house and also climbed up and used the power washer to unclog the gutters (holy shamoly).

While he was doing that, I painted the concrete foundation on the side of the house that is below the siding in the photos here, because it looked crummy (the concrete that was fresher – from when we had a guy install a double door down there for easier access – really never quite adjusted to the same look as the old, so it needed to be painted so it would look all even)...only now the side of the house looks great and the BACK of the house foundation looks crummy (just because it now looks really dirty - even after power-washing) so I have to go get more paint and do it, too.  Yay.  IMG_5077webNOT.  Ever paint concrete?  I was so spattered, I looked like a giant cream-colored freckle.

In between all that today, there was also care of the kids – keeping an eye on them and then baths, supper, bedtime, and whatnot.

When it got dark on us, we came in and cleaned up, ate supper, and then it was back to work.

We unhooked the tv oversized computer screen from the wall-mount and disassembled the gigantic wall unit so that we could fix the drywall behind it where we messed it up when we first hung the tv oversized computer screen on the wall.  Now the tv oversized computer screen is back on an entertainment stand again and there's a giant hole in the wall that we gotta fix.  (long story – don’t remember if I ever blogged about the whole trying to get that thing on the wall business, but it was a job and a half!)

Other random-ness, my friend, Jules, is having another scrapbook supply giveaway…click here to go enter!  Stay tuned because I’m going to be going through my stuff in the very near future, too, and I’m quite sure that I will be doing one of these myself!  =)

My left big toe-nail got beat up somewhere and has black bruises in the nail-bed.  It looks horrible.  I’m sure you really needed to know that, but hey, it fits my random theme, here!  LOL!

I have a sinus headache and advil didn’t kill it.  I’m bummed out about that, but I’m figuring if advil didn’t fix it, perhaps sleep might.  SO.  Another busy day tomorrow and I am going to hit the sack for now!

Thanks for dropping by!

Yeah

I’m still here.  I really have been trying to blog more often.

As KC says, (well, he’s quoting Yoda) “Do or do not, there is no try.”

Um.  So I’ve been doing NOT.

Revival this weekend at church, plus still house hunting, plus daycare closing, plus appointments, plus LIFE…has pretty much got me ragged.

But I’m still alive.  =)  That’s a pretty big blessing.  Just not keeping up very well on the blogging.  HEY…that’s better than I can say about some of you, my friends…I was checking to make sure my feed reader wasn’t broken and NO…sure enough, some of you people haven’t posted since last JANUARY.  Um.  I don’t feel so bad anymore!  LOL!

Why are you still here?  GO BLOG!  ;-)

More Designing

MadCat web medIt’s over on the Design Blog if you want to check it out.  =)  The cat, he does hate baths!

The fatter he gets, the more I hate the baths.  He’s got incredible leg power from lifting all that weight.  Thank God the fleas are gone.

Motivation

Wow.  It’s left me in the dust!  And I don’t even know where it went!?

*sigh*

Yesterday, I dug out the winter clothes boxes out of the attic and after determining the “needs” for the kids winter wardrobes, I headed for the thrift stores in the town where the hubby works.  I found a few things that were on the “needs” list and then headed over to the hubby’s work to meet him for lunch.

We went to look at a house that isn’t too far from where he works.  Yes, we are still on the prowl.  We saw this awesome old southern house (think that white house in Gone With The Wind except it didn’t have those columns/front porch) and it was huge (like 8 bedrooms and 5000+ sq feet and 2 stories plus an attic and basement huge) and actually in our price range, so we thought…hey…let’s see what the inside looks like.  So we looked.  It actually had tons of potential, but just like the last one we made an offer on, we would have to make a really low offer because of all the work it needs.

I was in love with the outside because seriously, the place was gorgeous.  But the inside just needed restoring and the return on investment wouldn’t have paid off.  Plus I was annoyed at the layout of the rooms.  The place was a maze and had a completely illogical layout.  It desperately needed some walls knocked out and doorways blocked off.  I mean, when you went up to the second floor, to the right was the master bedroom, through that was a sitting room, through that was the master bathroom, through that was another bedroom, through that was a weird little hallway and another bedroom or you could go back to the stairs.  And the peeling wallpaper and closets reminded me of my grandma’s old house.  Not in a bad way, but not in an “I’d want to live there” kind of way either.

Oh well.  That one’s out.  NEXT?

Let’s see…what else is happening in my life lately?

The kids are doing their best to make their momma go insane.  Like the Munchkin who had maybe 10 good days in the entire last nine weeks…well, she turned it around and had a good week last week with NOOO cards pulled—ALL WEEK.  YES!  She finally figured it out!!  But wait…yesterday?  Worst day yet.  Today?  Not much better.  And then there’s K-man, who suddenly regressed back to wetting his britches at least twice a day after being completely potty trained with few accidents for MONTHS now.  Hello??  What’s the deal?  Only thing I can figure out with that is that maybe he’s feeling the upset of the daycare closing and maybe that’s causing the regression.  That is the only thing going on that would make any sense anyways.  And I have no clue what’s going on with Munchkin.  Gonna get an evaluation from a professional on that one…maybe that will do some good.  As of right now, someone is wearing a pullup over his big boy pants and someone else is writing “I will follow directions.” about 20 times.  Stubborn kids.  But I know all about stubborn.  I wrote my share of lines when I was a kid…I’m not sure it broke the stubborn but it sure kept me out of trouble for a few hours.  LOL!

Now.  What to fix for supper…it has been such a scattered day today.

But now at least I’ve posted.

A Random Tale

Bob Hill and his new wife Betty were vacationing in Europe... as it happens, near Transylvania . They were driving in a rental car along a rather deserted highway. It was late and raining very hard. Bob could barely see the road in front of the car. Suddenly the car skids out of control! Bob attempts to control the car, but to no avail! The car swerves and smashes into a tree.

Moments later, Bob shakes his head to clear the fog. Dazed, he looks over at the passenger seat and sees his wife unconscious, with her head bleeding! Despite the rain and unfamiliar countryside, Bob knows he has to get her medical assistance.

Bob carefully picks his wife up and begins trudging down the road. After a short while, he sees a light. He heads towards the light, which is coming from a large, old house. He approaches the door and knocks. A minute passes. A small, hunched man opens the door Bob immediately blurts, "Hello, my name is Bob Hill, and this is my wife Betty. We've been in a terrible accident, and my wife has been seriously hurt. Can I please use your phone?"

"I'm sorry," replied the hunchback, "but we don't have a phone. My master is a doctor; come in and I will get him!" Bob brings his wife in.

An older man comes down the stairs. "I'm afraid my assistant may have misled you. I am not a medical doctor; I am a scientist... However, it is many miles to the nearest clinic, and I have had a basic medical training. I will see what I can do... Igor, bring them down to the laboratory."

With that, Igor picks up Betty and carries her downstairs, with Bob following closely. Igor places Betty on a table in the lab. Bob collapses from exhaustion and his own injuries, so Igor places Bob on an adjoining table.

After a brief examination, Igor's master looks worried. "Things are serious, Igor. Prepare a transfusion." Igor and his master work feverishly, but to no avail. Bob and Betty Hill are no more.

The Hills' deaths upset Igor's master greatly. Wearily, he climbs the steps to his conservatory, which houses his grand piano.. For it is here that he has always found solace. He begins to play, and a stirring, almost haunting melody fills the house.

Meanwhile, Igor is still in the lab tidying up. His eyes catch movement, and he notices the fingers on Betty's hand twitch, keeping time to the haunting piano music.. Stunned, he watches as Bob's arm begins to rise, marking the beat! He is further amazed as Betty and Bob both sit up straight!

Unable to contain himself, he dashes up the stairs to the conservatory.
He bursts in and shouts to his master:

"Master, Master! The Hills are alive,.....

..... with the sound of music!"

BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!  Saw that on a blog I read and couldn’t resist sharing…lol!

Three In A Row

Well, I’m blogging for three days in a row.  Doesn’t that just give you warm fuzzies?  Oh.  I’m sorry.  It gave me warm fuzzies.

I’m exhausted.  But I don’t have H1N1.  Unfortunately, (poor souls) some people in our church DO have it, and the rest of us just have stinky old colds and head junk, so the choir recording this weekend was postponed…again.  They are still going to record some of the solos, I think, but the heavy duty stuff will be put off on another weekend.  Who knows when…

Supposed to go take that placement test in the morning, so I am hesitant to take another Alka-seltzer packet.  I’d really like to, though, because last night I slept SOUNDLY.  So soundly, in fact, that the only time I woke up was when KC jostled me while crawling back in bed (hmmm…maybe intentionally?) and let me know that he had changed K-man’s jammies and put him in the other bunk because he wet ALL the bed and it was stinky and he didn’t want to change all the sheets.  I never heard a thing…until KC woke me up to tell me that.  I can’t say as I blame him…because I remember many nights when I did the same thing and he never budged…and I may have (once or twice) been extra forceful when I crawled back in bed…just to make sure he became aware of my sacrifices.  HEH!  I asked if he had cried and KC said he did…so I was really out of it…I usually hear him.  And that was the last I remember until morning.  And then I had a REAL battle trying to make myself get out of bed.

So yeah.  I don’t think plugging that stuff into my brain will do me any favors tomorrow morning on that test.

Anywho…court really stunk today.  I have already vented and growled about it on facebook…I was soo so soooo mad.  They pushed it off again…so now December and then she’ll still have 30 days to appeal AGAIN (and based on the fact that she didn’t show for court AND still got an extension, I feel quite certain that she’s going to keep dragging it out) and then we’ll have ANOTHER year’s wait.  Mad doesn’t even begin to describe it.  Let’s just say that as I was walking to my car and noted the specially reserved parking spaces, some very vandalistic thoughts crossed my mind.  This was after the thought crossed my mind of speaking my mind in the courtroom when the judge asked if anyone had any objections to the extension.  Thankfully, I’m good at controlling those thoughts and not acting on them or else I might have ended up with a lot worse than a warning ticket.  I’m still mad though.  And incredibly frustrated.  I should get off this topic because I’m getting all heated up again.

On that note, I think I’m going to head to bed…because while I didn’t take an Alkaseltzer pack tonight, my eyelids sure feel like I did.  Night!

Alka-seltzer Plus

I have a burning question.  This has bugged me for ages.  How is it possible that a cold medicine can make you excitable and drowsy all at the same time?

And while we’re on the subject…I feel rotten.  We had to leave church early because about midway through, my face started burning and when my eyeballs and lips burn like that, I’m usually running a temp.  Not to mention the fact that my head was exploding.  So we headed home to load up on cold meds.

FYI…that icky (supposedly tasteless) alkaseltzer powder that you put in drinks?  Hot chocolate actually does make it tasteless.

Heard from the realtor today…it’s back to the drawing board on the real estate side of things.  On the bright side, we’re not so rushed now to get everything ready to put ours on the market.  Although we are still going to go ahead and get all the detail stuff wrapped up so that we’re not rushed when we DO find a bigger place that is meant to be.  Oooohhh well.

But I got the front porch railing repainted today.  I was miserable and sneezing all the way through but it’s done and it’s bright and white and fresh now.  It was a bigger job than I anticipated because I was just going to touch up the red mudstains, but the rest of it looked so dingy that I had to paint over it all.  Bummer.  Oh well…it does look better now.  Next on the to-do list is kill those railing planters which contain the flowers that the frost already killed and just start with some fresh.  But I’ll save that for another day – when I feel better.

And now I’m drowsy.  Night.

Did You Know?

That if you cross two lanes (EVEN IF BOTH LANES ARE CLEAR), it is considered unsafe movement and illegal?  And that it is preferred that you cause an accident by stopping behind a person who cannot merge onto interstate as opposed to going on around them?  Well, okay, I added the last part, but that’s basically how it is.

Yeah.  I didn’t know that.  And apparently I did it right in front of a cop because he was on me like white on rice.

To make it more perfect, I was on my way to sisters night out…so at least half the sisters coming from my direction witnessed my moment there on the side of the interstate.

I couldn’t find my registration…i knew it was in there but I was so flustered and I kept flipping through the car papers and couldn’t find it.  But at least I didn’t cry until after he took my license and went back to his car.  And I didn’t even know why he pulled me until after he brought back his little clipboard and asked me to sign.  I asked him what I did before I signed it, and he told me and then he explained it was just a warning.  I was much happier to sign it then.  Dear heavenly father.

I wouldn’t have cried if I hadn’t really thought I was going to get a ticket because I ALWAYS do…and because I did not want to have to tell KC.  LOL.

I was SOOO relieved to not get a ticket…gaaaa.  I wasn’t going to blog tonight but whew…needed to get that out of my system.  I took a few pics of girls night out tonight but I don’t have it in me to get up, go get the camera, download and upload…yeah.  anyway.

Dear God, thank you for answering my desperate plea for that cop to have a teeny tiny ounce of mercy on me tonight.  He did.  And I really really appreciate it!  *sigh of relief* AMEN!

Hello.

I am going crazy.
.
.
.
So what’s new with YOU?

I hope you’re doing better than me.  I cannot believe I am sick AGAIN.  Why does this only happen on weeks when I have too much to do?  It’s making me insane.  Why can’t I be sick on the slow weeks when I have nothing major scheduled?

OH YES.  Sorry, Murphy, didn’t see you over there.  Can you move along now?  You are making me insane.

Not that I’m here to gripe, but I have not stopped moving today…or yesterday…in spite of awful stomach pain and head cold junk.  And this week is just nuts.

  • Tomorrow, it’s paint day at K’s…gotta get those cabinets finished…I feel terrible for leaving her hanging (and a bunch of cabinet doors NOT hanging) for like…months.  OUCH.
  • Tomorrow night: Girls night out. (hallelujah!)
  • Wednesday: More DEEP cleaning on the house (I’ll explain that in a minute)
  • Wednesday night: church
  • Thursday: Court and then I have to run by DSS for a meeting with the licensing worker (one of those things ya just gotta do to keep your license)
  • Thursday night: Choir practice and two girls at the house
  • Friday: Taking the kids to school and me and the two girls are going to see how smart we are (college placement exams…oh joy!)
  • Friday night: Choir recording for the cd (part one)
  • Saturday: Choir recording for the cd (part two)
  • Saturday night: probably a slow painful death from exhaustion
  • Sunday: church

And hopefully somewhere in the middle of all that, we will hear some good news from our real estate dude.  Nothing is going on…YET.  But…anyone want to buy our house? IMG_4134eweb It’s pretty and it’s nice and it has a really, really, really nice backyard.  And kitchen cabinets that are all neat (well except for the one last one that I haven’t cleaned yet).  LOL.  Yes, that’s what all the house cleaning is about—not that it wasn’t already clean (okay, well, we’ll pretend it was).

Speaking of clean?  We have a nobody ghost.  Did I mention it last week when there was um….smears all over the side of the toilet?  Don’t remember if I talked about it or not…but nobody did it.  And nobody did it RIGHT AFTER I GOT DONE SCRUBBING THE FIRE OUT OF THAT BATHROOM, TOO.  I was fit to be tied.  Well…I cleaned it – again.  Today?  I go in there and there is a yellow puddle – behind and beside the toilet and under the trash can…and NOBODY DID IT AGAIN!  ICK. What was I talking about?  Oh yeah…wanna buy a house?

Welp…time for me to hop off…hopefully somewhere between working my tail off and collapsing in exhaustion, I will find some time to sit down and detail what’s going on around here…

in a perfect world.

A world that doesn’t include Murphy.  Huhm.  That’s not MY world.  Well.  One can always dream, right?
