Hey

*shaking head in a daze*  Where did that wagon go?  I think I fell off…I haven’t blogged in a few days.  OOPS.  I have been drinking LOTs of water though.  And I haven’t had a Dr Pepper in 16 days, 11 hours, 22 minutes, and 32…33…34…lol….um….I haven’t missed it at all…HA.  Okay, I don’t really remember it down to the second…I was kidding.  BUT I have been drinking water!  At least there’s ONE positive in my favor.

So Munchkin got strep for Thanksgiving day, so we stayed home.  Have been busy around here…the house is looking decent…been organizing and cleaning and working my little tail off and it’s coming along.  The family is supposed to be here for IMG_9023ewebChristmas this year so we have been trying to get the house in tip-top shape.

Last couple of days I’ve been working on some Christmas projects and the days have been busy with working on the house and helping friends and working on those projects.  Plus some picture sessions.   I still have to finish the editing on those but I’m working on it.

Rained something awful today and tonight…hope that’s fixed the drought for awhile.  We were in choir practice tonight and the choir is singing “…even in the darkest night, walk by…” and the power goes out and it’s pitch black inside the church…for a full 5 seconds.  I told KC…HUM…guess God was testing to see if we meant it.  LOL!

Anyway…I can’t think anymore tonight…I really need to go to bed but I’ve been half watching A Time To Kill while I’ve been working tonight and I love that movie and it’s not over yet…lol…maybe I’ll just go back to bed after I take Munchkin to the bus stop in the morning.  LOL.

Oh well.  Goodnight!

Whew…

Going through photos for the year.  Some months I took LOTS of pictures…and then some months…well…I haven’t been so hot on photos this month.  OH WELL.

It’s making me a little sad though…the puppies were…ahem…PUPPIES just a few months ago.

And happy, too…the house was in desperate need for a complete paint job just a few months ago…LOL!  Not so much now.  YAY!  =)

And a few times, I’ve laughed.  Like when I looked at all the PROJECT photos I took this year.  And remembered the day that K-man took a jug out to the recycle bin for me and cheerfully said, “that’s right, mama, reduce, reUSE, REEEcycle!”  Bwahahaha….We do a lot of re-USING around here.  Love it!  =)

It ended up being much later than I thought it was and I’m still not finished, so the blog post that was in my mind is zapped.  I will hopefully come back tomorrow.  LOL.

Oh and I’m thankful that my sore throat is feeling better.  =)  And that Munchkin’s sore throat is feeling better.  And that so far, no one else is sick.

Busy

Well, I was busy yesterday….kinda crazy day…so no post.  *wincing*  I haven’t done so great with the making my bed up habit either.  Oh well.  Can’t win’em all.  =)  turkey-day-ad

Here’s something fun though!  If you are on the lookout for some AWESOME kits, the designer that I create for is having a fantastic sale!  50% off all her kits.  And she’s got a brand spankin’ new one out that is just adorable!  Particularly if you have a bookworm in your house. =)

All of her stuff is so fun…I love all her kits and this is your chance to stock up on some good stuff!  Don’t miss it!

Oh and before I go, here’s her latest kit: SweetTomato_Bookish_Preview
And here’s the page I created with it:

ST-Seedlings6 - book obssession web lg

Reading is TOTALLY one of my obsessions. ;-)  I have GOT to find a good book to read over thanksgiving.  =)

Oooh Dear

It’s 10:26 and my eyelids are WAY heavier than they usually are at this time of night.  :-O  Don’t know why except that maybe it has something to do with the fact that I ran all over the place today and I’m totally tired.  Again.  =)

Tonight I’m thankful for comfortable furniture.  Particularly a comfortable bed.  Seriously.  All I have to do is remember some of the other places I’ve slept laid down and tossed and turned all night on, and I’m instantly thankful all over again that I have a comfortable cozy warm bed.  =)

And now I’m going to go have a nice long visit with that particular piece of furniture.  Tomorrow is another busy day…thanksgiving is almost here and I’m not ready.  And we won’t even talk about Christmas.  Yow.  Ya’ll have a good night now, ya hear?  May your dreams be less weird than mine.  ;-)

The Difference Between Boys And Girls

Alternate Title: Horrifying on SO Many Levels

BOY playing Star Wars           VS         GIRL playing Star Wars

So tonight, Munchkin had her SW peoples and was playing quietly in church…I looked down and was horrified to see her making her SW peoples making out with each other.  ACK.  IN CHURCH.  Oh the horror.  To make it worse, it was the good little jedi girl and the bad guy bounty hunter!  I just hope it wasn’t the first date!  LOL…the sermon this morning touched on getting physical too fast when dating…maybe that’s where she came up with this idea.  Haha.  I guess it’s better to laugh than cry, right?

I tried to comfort myself with the fact that I played with barbie dolls when I was a kid and made them kiss and stuff…so maybe it’s not all that abnormal.  But PLEASE, child!  NOT IN CHURCH.   Although I guess that’s probably not any better than killing all the clones dead with lightsabers…in church.  LOL!  OH YEAH…and let’s not forget…we don’t date the bad guys, okay?

*please excuse the first two photos…i snapped them with my phone.  =)

Me!

Yes…hello.  It’s: M-3E-1

And ME is sleepy.  Feeling much better…hopped in the jacuzzi tonight and let the jets sooth my poor shoulder.  Wasn’t even thinking today and lifted one of the kids up into the truck and AS I did, the thought crossed my mind…that might have been a bad idea.  Oh well.  Tried to rest it as much as possible and the jacuzzi was a lovely fix.  But it made me sleepy.

Today I’m thankful for a relaxing, restful Saturday (not typical) and that our house has such a nice feature as a jacuzzi.  =)  And now I’m falling asleep, so I’m gonna hit the sack.  Night.

PS: Sorry for the boring material here lately…maybe my goal for December will be to actually come up with some good material!  LOL.  =)

Go Figure

*sigh*  I just spent a good hour making a new header for the ol’ blog.  And the next thing I know…”blip” …and Photoshop is… (not responding).  Goodbye, last hour.  Oh well.  Guess “Summer” will hang around on my blog for a few more days.

ANYWAY!  I am so tired…again.  But my shoulder is SO much better today.  I’m seriously trying to rest it.  But there’s just one problem…in a few weeks, I’m gonna have to call my doctor back.  “Um…yes, doc, can you give me a shot in my OTHER arm?”  Cuz…well…I can’t exactly TOTALLY rest…it’s not in my character.  So I’ve just been using my LEFT arm to do everything.  Like moving couches and loveseats and vacuuming and….um.  Moving on…

I AM thankful though, that the shot seems to have helped my shoulder!  Now if I can just rest it for a week so it will STAY better.  That is going to be the tricky part.  =)  Oh, and I’m also thankful that we didn’t lose any furniture off the back of the truck on I-85 in the middle of 3 lanes of heavy traffic, even though AFTER we got off of 85 and stopped to check the load, we realized one of the straps had just totally came undone.  *wincing*  And I didn’t turn into a total basket case during the event either…my knuckles were white and my leg will never be the same, but I managed without totally falling apart.  And our basement is really coming together now…I’m thankful for THAT, too.  =)

And now, my sore left arm, my crippled right arm, and my sleepy eyes are going to bed…hopefully the rest of me will follow.

Zombie

I hate pain meds.  Today was kinda foggy.  I hate that.  My shoulder is feeling a little better though…settled down a little bit.  Still can’t do much with it, and since it’s my right arm, that makes life a little interesting.

Anyway…I don’t think I’m gonna hang around here long tonight…I can’t hardly keep my eyes open.  =(

Today I’m thankful for God.  I really have no other words to go with that….I’m just thankful.  And I’m thankful that I was able to keep my eyes open long enough to post.  =)  Goodnight.

Not Good

Well, yesterday got away from me.  At 11:40 last night, right as I was curled up in the nice warm bed, drifting into unconsciousness, the thought crossed my mind…oh phooey, I didn’t blog.

And then I thought.  Nuh, uh…I’ll do double tomorrow.  And that was the last thing I remember.  And then I got up this morning and hit the ground running and blogging just didn’t fit anywhere in there.  So there’s my second failure.  The first being with the habit of making the bed all the way up to pillows.  Fell off that wagon the last few days, too.

BUT.  I have drank nothing but water for three days now.  It almost killed me today…but I stuck to it.  I had to go BACK to the town down the road for the second time in one day (long story) and I thought, well, there’s at least one bright spot…the place I have to go when I go back is right across from Sonic and it will be right in the middle of happy hour…I can just go pick up a nice half price drink.  So I get there.  I am IN THE DRIVE THRU….in the middle of ordering a drink when I remember…wait a minute…I can’t have any drinks…only water.  So I said…um…never mind…I guess I’ll just take a water.  They probably thought I was nuts.  But I didn’t drink anything except water.

And today I could have really used a drink.  What a day.  Definite capper of the day was that 3 inch needle in my shoulder and being 4 pounds heavier than my last doctor visit 5 weeks ago.  LOL.

Oh well.  He did give me a few low dose pain killers, and since they make you drowsy, I had to wait until now to take one….I’m feeling much better now…AND SLEEPY.  So I should hurry with the thankful things before I fall asleep and THIS one doesn’t get posted.  ;-)

Yesterday, I was thankful that we got our homework done for the training hours needed for our foster care license renewal.  (We were behind and had to get 10 hours – and catch up in one week…lol).  BUT…it’s done.  Right under the deadline.  *whew*

Today, I’m thankful that I didn’t pass out when the doctor stuck that needle all the way down into my shoulder joint.  Munchkin was watching in horror, so I had to set a fine example of what NOT to do when you get scary needles stuck in ya.  God really helped me though…and I gritted my teeth and smiled at Munchkin while the excruciating pain was going on in my shoulder.  *wincing*  Now, hopefully the shot will make it better so I can be thankful for THAT. =)

The end.  Zzzzzzz….

Time

I am SO. Tired.  But my brain is still going 90 miles an hour.  Good thing there are no traffic cops in my head.

Unfortunately my brain is going 90 miles an hour in DOUGHNUTS, so I’m pretty much ready to just fall into bed and forget about it for a few hours.  =)

Tonight I’m thankful for time spent with friends.  Friends who are every bit as close to family as you can get without actually being related.  Friends that make painting fun.  ;-)  Anyways, I love spending time with our friends and that we always have such a good time.   Even if its doing nothing more than having a meal and chatting for a little while…or spending hours painting and chatting…it’s all good.  And I am grateful for all those times.  =)

Light, Cheap, & Random

Strangely enough, I’m not as hungry right now as I thought I’d be…today I have consumed an oatmeal pie and coffee (breakfast); a spicy chicken go-wrap, eight fries, and a dr pepper (lunch); and 2 chicken wraps, 4 fries, and a dr pepper (supper).  And actually, the dr pepper was only because I’m trying to finish up this 2 liter at home so that I won’t have to throw it out…going cold turkey tomorrow.  The goal is a week of WATER ONLY.  *sigh*

And all I can say is I certainly hope my scale is nicer to me by the end of next week.  If I wasn’t tall, I’d be fat.  Not that I’m huge or anything, but I’m sure NOT loving the extra 10 pounds that showed up in the last 2 weeks.  GRRR.  Scary…plus the bursitis is back and if I have to take that medicine again that makes me super hungry again, I’ll really be in trouble.  That’s what started this whole thing anyway.  =(

So tonight, after ordering our second drive-thru meal of the day, KC looked at me and said…I could get used to this eating cheap.  I was like, eating cheap?  We’re just NOT EATING, DUDE!  LOL.  Of course that’s cheap!  Hahaha!  We really did do good today though…the four of us ate TWICE on what one fast food meal typically costs.  Hey. Not too shabby.  =)

Random change of subject…my monster puppies learned how to play fetch with the tennis ball in the last couple of days.  I throw it across the basement and they run to get it and bring it back.  It’s so cool!  =)  Oh and on the not cool side, Obi has regressed and I have to keep track of him all the time now because he sneaks away to poo even after he’s gone outside like a good boy…how do I fix that?  I have caught him in the act and scolded the fire out of him, he only runs loose in the house IF he has pottied outside, and yet, he still does it.  *SIGH*  Annoying.

Another random change of subject, the basement annoyed me today.  It was a wreck and it made me crazy.  And my poor anal hubby wasn’t bothered a bit.  Which is mainly what bothered me the most because I usually don’t have to be bothered by stuff like that because HE is and he FIXES it before I ever feel annoyed by it.  =)

SO here’s my thankful thing for today:  I’m thankful my hubby didn’t get (too) angry with me when I went ballistic over the disaster of a family room today and instead he helped me arrange it into a livable (for the time being) set-up.  Yay for a darling hubby. ;-)  Yay also for me getting over my ballistic moment.  ;-)  My hubby says yay for that, too.  Although he doesn’t actually use the word “yay.”  He’s much too sophisticated for that.  LOL.  Oh well.  I love him anyway.  =)

Cha-ching

We went to Ikea today.  Second time in a few weeks and can I just say again….WOW!  Signed the kids into the kiddy play center and went shopping…I LOVE IKEA!  =)

We got a few things.  And a very large bill.  And lunch.  It was fun.  Except for the large bill.  But we did get quite a few things for that very large bill, and free babysitting for the kids while we looked around, so I guess it was worth it.  LOL.  Oh and…if you got kids…they eat free at IKEA in November…which is really, really cool!  =)

Tonight I’m thankful that I got all the stuff we bought at IKEA put together before I crashed.  LOL.  Speaking of crashing…*yawn*
