Tonight is going to be another busy hurried evening. At least until my friends get to the house. They're coming in from Ohio to visit their family down here and they're staying with us for the weekend. I'm excited. But I'll be hurrying and rushing around the house to get it clean before they arrive. Once they get here, though, and after I've cooked supper, I'll be able to kick back and have fun. I'm not going to church tonight since they're coming in and I have to finish getting things ready for them, but KC is still going to go. There is just no way I can get everything done AND go to church. Forgive me, Lord.
I'm extremely excited about them coming. My friend and I go way back and since she got married and moved to OH, I haven't seen enough of her. We had some really good times together, she was like my sister. Old friends are the best kind, you don't have to explain past history, they were there and they understand. Although when they're long distance, you do have to catch up a lot of current things, but the best kind of old friends understand that stuff, too. It's going to be a good weekend. I refuse to have anything else.

High Maintenance
Why is everything in life so high maintenance? Everything requires extra effort and I'm running out of extra effort. I'm running out of effort, period! Take for instance, our hardwood floors...they are only 8 months old and were beautiful up until about 2 weeks ago. I've faithfully (well, pretty much faithfully anyways) swept and mopped them and they have remained beautiful through it all. So what happened? They looked a little dirty, so I mopped last week and I can't figure out what happened. I used the same stuff I've been using but now, they look dull and streaky. So I put out the extra effort to go FIND some different floor polish for wood floors, mopped it again, and still, I'm making it worse. Now I'm getting mad. I've mopped the dumb floor 4 times this week (that's a record) and its not getting any better. I'm thinking, maybe its the mop, so I go to Lowes, buy some expensive floor treatment, get on my hands and knees with a soft towel and test in in a small corner (no way am I mopping the whole floor because if it doesn't work, I'm taking that stuff back). So I polish and buff my 8 square inches of floor and...yep...you guessed it...still no banana. So I sit there in my little 8 inches and try all the different floor polishes of which I am now the proud owner. I even tried furniture polish. That floor is NOT working with me. I'm turning this problem over to KC. Maybe he can find something that will fix it. In my next life, I'm putting the wood floors on the ceiling so no one can walk on them and get them dirty. How's that for a low maintenance system?

Busy, Busy, Busy
Its a brand new day and I'm already tired. Okay, so maybe its not quite BRAND new, since it is already getting close to noon, but you get the point. Why is life so complicated and busy? Just for a change of pace, I'd like to take a day off and not have anything to do! No errands, no church, no chores, nothing! I'm so tired of spending my life in a hurry to get there and do this and make that....so my schedule for today: work 8-2, drive back to *our town*, drop off a package of rolls at a friends house for the evangelist dinner tonight, go to the health department for a mumps/measles/rubella vacination (that I'm really not looking forward to getting), on to the grocery store to pick up food for our guests that are coming in this weekend, back home to try to get some cleaning done before church, throw on some supper for KC, and then off to church for the rest of the evening. Well, so much for getting out of the "hurry" rut....maybe another day.

Goofing off
So I'm kind of new at this blogging thing and thought I'd take advantage of a dull moment at work to try it out. I'm getting ready to take a pile of mail to the post office for work and then I'll be heading home. We're having revival at church the rest of this week and I'm tired already just thinking about it. So I'm not sure what to say now. I guess I'll write more later if I have time. Maybe I'll figure out how to post some pictures, too. Well, have a great day.
